Nas' New Album

I refuse too call Nas’ new album untitled for the simple reason the project was intended to be called Nigger and only because the powers that be didn’t want him too have his freedom of speech, this is not a political discussion his album has leaked, has anyone else heard this album?

I think finally Nas has gotten it right, his first album is a hip hop classic, if you like rap, you’ll like illmatic…simple as that, illmatic is the definition of hip hop, however after this album the rest of his catalogue has been plagued with either good production or terrible production, lyrically 95% of his songs are on point, for me Nas’ lowest point was Street disciple i still only listen too maybe 2-3 songs from that album, simply put the production/beats were beyond terrible. I own all his album and will purchase his latest effort

if people would like a link to listen too the album just pm me as I’m not sure when the album is released in various countries however I have already pre-ordered my copy on amazon

Though some of his albums might be better than others, he is to me, the best rapper ever. Unlike every other rapper out there he doesn’t have to write every song about hoes and riding on dubs. Lyrically he is unmatched.

One listen through and this album is pretty good. It remains to be seen if it has staying power in my rotation.

i’d almost agree with you on this however i still believe jay-z is the GOAT, nas never changes his flow and his beat selection at times is garbage, if you compared album for album with jay i believe jay is superior, however most consistent of all time i’d go with common who hasnt released an album less than 4/5

btw hero is one of my favourite tracks this year

Quite frankly , I cannot wait. I normally do not listen to mainstream hip hop , but Nas is always one of the exceptions. I enjoyed his last albulm , and this one should be no different.

on a side note nas is meant to have come to australia twice in the past two years only to cancel his gigs, its incredibly frustrating that i keep buying tickets the day they are released only too be told two months later its been cancelled

JAY-Z might be second but better no, Problem with Jay is he is to commercial to the point that his stuff sounds POP.
Nas has never had the type of commercial or marketing jay has had. Also Jay-Z annoys me with his( Its hove, yeaa, jigga) on every damn track. Nas also topped him with ETHER.Beat wise Jay-z has an edge but lyrically Nas is still on another level.

Common is good to but he at times tends to be to much on the poetic side. Nas not only rhymes but he tells a story (Get Down)

Anyone who knows anything about hip-hop has Illmatic in their collection, for sure. Always a fairly solid MC, I’m looking forward to his new CD, but not enough to pursue his leaked shit.

IMO, Thief’s Theme is his best song. Since Illmatic none of his CD’s have really blown me away tho.

i used to believe the same when it came too ether however after listening too super ugly, takeover and blueprint 2(the track, not album) jigga man had him beat, the problem with ether was it was pretty much jay your a homo, and that was repeatedly said throughout the diss, none of it was that clever, listen too takeover, blueprint 2 and super ugly and you will see that jay came with good disses, not just your a homo, im the biggest gangster in the world kinda thing

it reminds me of the joe budden vs ransom battle, where ransom pretty much just kept going about budden being gay whilst joe actually had punch lines and decent disses, with the jay vs nas battle i think its because everyone didnt expect nas to come back at jay and everyone wanted to see the underdog win, so even though it was a lesser diss people viewed it as better because they wanted jay to lose

nas fell off. hes been whack since whatever that last album was that had that song with him and his dad. dude thinks he can say hip-hop is dead like he makes the rules or someshit. like i said in a thread before, hip-hop just changes its changed from its start to the 90s style and its changed again either adapt or die. hip-hop aint dead, nas is dead.

I totally agree with LiveFromThe781, Nas is whack. All you muthafuckas should be listening to that new shit.

Check this out:

Now that’s REAL hip-hop son.

  • It’s entirely possible I’m being sarcastic. You be the judge.

ok now compare ether with takeover, blueprint 2 and super ugly…tell me who had the better lines then, only nas dick riders believe ether was better than these three songs

If that was directed at me, I’m no saying Nas is a lyrical king, I just know what he meant when he said Hip-Hop was dead.

Or only Jay-Z dick riders think those songs are better than ether ;)…But on a serious note, Both artist are extremely talented. I enjoy listening to both of them, but Nas more. I prefer jay’s old style. I think he raps so slow now.
