I really want to learn how to oly lift from someone who knows what they’re talking about! and I wouldn’t mind some one taking a look at my squat/dead form, I workout in my garage and unfortunately there’s no one in my old gym who could do that!!
Make some videos, upload to you-tube then go to the “Over 35 Lifter” MaurarderMeat has a thread there to correct form n shit where theres a will theres a way
And why in gods name do you wish to learn Oly lifting !
Back in April i think it was, i was all about competing, but then i realised im nothing special, im not being negative here, i have a nice structure an all that jazz with some good body parts but man, i need to be fuckin way bigger. I reckon ill hit the stage in 2 years id say.
British Champs would be a no go for me, college and money. Zack for the win.
Honestly, i just don’t know what it is, but in the UK and Eire bodybuilding scene for some reason most of the largest and best quality bodybuilders are the guys who don’t compete.
Of all the best bodybuilders i have met in the UK, (IRL) only one of them competed, with the largest and most developed having quit competing for one reason or another… and the other two with no interest in it at all.
Now i am talking guys who are GOOD - significantly better than every one of the competitors on the stage in the pics shown, and better than most regional shows in the UK.
UK bodybuilding is really uninspiring sadly, and while i try to think along the lines of it only being beneficial to me if my competitors are in worse shape (often just genetically/shape etc), i can’t help feeling demoralised by the relatively low level of competition - as a fan.
Now i am no genetic beauty, far from it - but there are some ugly motherfuckers in the UK scene man, honestly you wouldn’t leave the house let alone step on stage shaved and oiled!

Hahaha… and then theres some days in the gym where i cant get over the fact im such a monster
Never been down to comp level bodyfat, i have been very lean but that would have been at the begining before i started to put any decent size on.
Aaron is fucking awesome, where is Hercules gym at bro?
He came last! WFT… I totally agree with you, if he can bring up his legs and get good conditioning- best bodybuilder in Ireland, he’s got a pro upper body, sick!

Hercs is about a 2 minute walk from DIT Bolton Street!! And home to Ireland’s best tested and untested powerlifters, and Ireland’s 2 best junior lifters. Pretty sweet gym!
Frank’s upper body is actually near pro standard, it’s just UNREAL. The one thing I don’t like about NABBA is how conditioning-conscious the judges are. Sometimes the guys carrying the most muscle get completely overlooked as a result.
Flo (second place) starts at 3.17, Aaron at 4.45. The thing I LOVED was how much fun he looked like he was having. The dude just knew he had it locked down and decided to enjoy himself. He actually scored an invite to the Mr. Universe as well which is pretty much unprecedented for a first timer.
