Also, I don’t want to hear another damn thing about 9-11. I live in NY. People I know died on that day. If you live in friggin Nebraska, 9-11 changed nothing for you. Your life went on as planned, except that you got riled up for a war.

Edit to last statement: Unless you are one of the rare people who actually honor your country by picking up a weapon and serving. As my over-educated, northeast, liberal, Jewish ass has
(hooah!).

This is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever read. Some of us care about this country beyond those matters that directly affect us. I’d even say those that don’t care about this country beyond matters that effect them are doing this country a disservice.
In one part he tells us our Brotherhood under Ol’ Glory is not needed and we are pretenders (because of proximity), and the other tells us he’s in that Brotherhood because he picked up a rifle?

Well, I paid for that rifle, so did a lot of people. Guess what, even if those buildings were in Canada, I would still have been pissed because it fucked up my family financially. Guess what Britain was pissed off as well, they had air support over NY, should we tell them to fuck off because you know they aren’t even part of this country?
Me and mine pay taxes as well. It’s absolutely ridiculous when someone points at the northeast and calls them a bunch of whiny liberals, and then uses the tragedy of what happened to the northeast liberals they hate so much to justify a war they aren’t going to have to fight themselves. If you aren’t willing to serve yourself, or send your children to war, shut the hell up about the need for war. Its absolutely amazing how many people are willing to send their countrymen’s children to die.

My real issue with the 9/11 mongering is that the mostly non-New Yorkers who are the first to flag wave over it are also the first to call the views we have here “un-American”. Remember Sarah Palin telling her supporters she liked to be in the “pro-America parts of the country”? I do. She just voiced what all of the red states were thinking.
Interesting since I am on the side of not going to war.

And who says I am not willing to serve my country, I already attempted it, do not act like you know me.

The reason why I make fun of NE’ers is because of their lack of knowledge of the Civil War, and because they are Yankees.

Yeah, but Obama is half white. What’s your point?
So Obama putting down on his census form that he is African American does that make him a racist toward Caucasians?
Well got damn, we got ourselves an African American in office. I’m not sure honestly, I am tired.

I wasn’t making a statement about you, but of a certain mindset I have run into. Damn right, I don’t know you.

Listen, I’ve spent enough time in the south to know that you have no choice but to learn about the civil war, since it’s on every corner, street post, rest stop and restaurant.

General Sherman by the way is a personal hero

Not baiting there at all.

I also want to point out that “But THEY’RE racist” is not the same thing as “I am not racist”

Just sayin.

Now I think I get you better.

“I would not if I could abolish or modify slavery. . . . Negros in the great numbers that exist here must of necessity be slaves.”

“Like Burton in ‘Toodles’ I say, â??damn the ni@@ers.â?? . . .”

You look up to a homicidal lunatic who authorized the slaughter of woman and children, not only considered black inferior but also non-human, encourage his soldier to rape women, was pro-slavery, who had no moral boundaries for acts one could commit during war, and on and on and on.

Sherman was truly one of the worst parts of the war. You’re hero, makes sense.

Saying (and showing), we are no more racist than any other group illustrates the hypocrisy of those denouncing it as racist.

C’mon, GL.

The guy’s not “abroad;” he’s FROM Sri Lanka or some such country.

If you can’t see that difference, I’m not going to pursue it with you.

AND, he’s the one making all sorts of statements about the current political situation in the US, not me.

EDIT: Oh and yeah, he has a cousin in Missouri; that’s why he started a special thread here about how heinous it was that strip clubs were being regulated there. lol.
Born there, lived there for three months.

Stop making assumptions.

Come on Mak, that is weak. Born here, babies don’t pay too much attention to the news. And 3 whole months…You’re my guy and all but lots not act like that is a ton of experience. Even Obama thinks that resume is lacking!

I’m missing the slaughter of women and children and encourage soldiers to rape women check boxes…
He was a hard man though. To be sure.

his good points I guess are his directness, his loyalty and his bravery. It is odd to count him a hero though. The civil war was miserable god awful stuff through and through.

I mean born in Sri Lanka, lived there 3 months, then left Sri Lanka. I hardly identify with the place, so it’s a bit annoying when people think it’s funny and/or relevant to bring it up.

Your brazenly dishonest presentation of “facts” isn’t worth a refutation (Sherman enoucraged soldiers to rape women, just dumb), but don’t start up the “Lost Cause” refrain yet again - you and yours will go down unceremoniously in flames like you always do.

This one was actually bullshit, and it’s becoming clear just how much now that the full video is being released. It’s a shame this woman became a pawn in the war between the Tea Party and the NAACP.

You have link for the full video?

If the full video shows that it is bullshit why did she get let go?

And this is what pisses me off about the whole thing, is that she kept refering to him as a white man. The fact that she talked about him based on the color of his skin shows she has some very real racial issues that should not be part of.

This quote says it best, “I figured that if I take him to one of them, that his own kind would take care of him,” she said.

I don’t know about you, but that sounds pretty racist to me, and if it was said in reverse that saying right there would be enough to have that guy permenatly labled a racist.

edit* keep hitting the submit button instead of preview.

Now I know at the end of the video that she says that this incident(that happened 20 years ago) changed her view on race, but some of her comments when responding to fox’s enquiry still sound like she has some deep racial issues.

Edit* This was the result of Andrew Breitbart lets not accuse the Tea Party of something they did not do.
