Anyone else going? I’m flying down that morning; and staying the night in DC. Should be lots of fun. Also though, I have a funny feeling that this will be a very important day in history. We’ll see.

Why is it that liberals just can’t imagine that everyone isn’t like them - that not everyone is driven by money primarily, as apparently they are.
So Feddy, the really funny thing is that proceeds are going to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) - to benefit troops and their families. You have a problem with that too? LOL.
Oh, and by the way: Beck is providing something of great value - unlike liberals, who are driven by envy as well as money, I would applaud the swelling of Becks’ bank account.
I’ll be there!
I would recommend everyone who holds the belief that our government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed to be there as well.
We need to display our disgust with a bloated and runaway bureacratic socialist government . . .

Kind of like when Hannity said that his money was going to charity? Gimme a break.
Isn’t the 28th a Wednesday? Go to work instead of supporting this self-proclaimed clown.
Furthermore, I’m actually not a liberal. I’ll send you my thesis when I’m done to prove it.

Let’s say that’s true about Hannity (I have no idea) - so is that supposed to mean that from now on, throughout the rest of human history, any charity benefits are actually exercises in deception in order to fill one’s own personal coffers? LOL.

Part of one’s “work” as a citizen is to stand up for one’s country. You might want to put that in your thesis - be sure to cite my authority, though, okay?

I assess a person based upon what they actually say and do, not by what they say they are. You might want to start looking in the mirror my friend.

Are we just now realizing this?
Seriously, this goes back to at least FDR.

I won’t speak for everyone, but I’m not even 30 years old. What the hell was I supposed to do before…so no, we aren’t just realizing this, we are just now old enough to really get involved. Just like all these people saying “where was your outrage when Bush was president?” oh I don’t know, finishing up high school, starting college, learning how the world worked instead of getting involved in things I knew nothing about.

BS you and I should have been sticking it to the man at 15.

You would be correct if it was July 28th or 07/28/10 but the flyer says 8/28/2010 or August 28th so that is a Saturday.

Well, then my post doesn’t apply to you.
But thanks for the contribution.

Ok smartass, well then since you speak of FDR I guess you are talking to the T-Nation members in the 80 or older demographic. You should post this in the “Over 35 Lifter” forum and pray.

My post apparently doesn’t apply to you because while Bush was in office you were graduating highschool and “figuring out how the world works”. So why did you respond?
The fact remains that not all, but many of the Conservatives/Republicans that post here had nothing to say about a “bloated and runaway bureacratic socialist government” (IrishSteel’s phrase), while Bush was in office. I mean really, with a few exceptions, Obama has continued Bush’s policies.
Where was the Tea Party then? Where was the Tea Party under Clinton or Bush Senior?
I’m not trying be a douche, but can some of the Tea Partiers explain this to me?

Not sure why it is at the Lincoln Memorial.

Not trying to be a douche either, but where was the Continental Congress prior to 1776. Why didn’t they do this 20-30 years earlier? It takes time for enough people to get fed up with crap. I voted for Bush both times, and stayed up over night to watch the results which never came. The last couple years of Bush I started to ask the question why are you spending so much money. The Tea Party started during the last couple of years of the Bush Administration. Started coming to the fore front about the same time the Democrats took the House and the Senate. Most of the laws signed by Bush in the last two years of his adminstration were written by Democrats. I did not want TARP. If you took on too much risk that risk was your own fault and you should pay the consequences. Too Big to Fail is wrong.

The fact that nothing changed after Obama got in office was the last straw, in the midst of the worst recession/depression since the great depression we had our president call for a new massive entitlement program. That got people woken up. Then the people started doing research and learning, and they found out holy shit this has been going on for a long time we need some serious changes.
Now the problem becomes, do they return to the progressive republicans i.e. Newt Gingrich, or do they turn to Ron Paul? I would like to think they are heading in the direction of Ron Paul.

Finally a point is reached where people have had enough. I have no clue why people didn’t stand up against Bush 1,2, or Clinton. But better to finally change things, than to keep going down the same path no? If you keep your stance stated about, we would have never broke from England. OR like a poster said in another thread, Rosa Parks should have just shut the fuck up and sat on the back of the bus. Don’t fault progress for finally happening. Bush sucks/Obama sucks. Sorry nobody said it at the time. Now I won’t agree at all that the whole mess is a false charade pitting two parties against one another, each feeling like they win when their “side” is in power only to be fooled into thinking both parties aren’t the same. I say good that the tea party is forming, and hope other parties step up no matter what they stand for, because unless these other movements gain some steam we will be stuck with the same Bush/Obama bullshit. Obama is clearly a black skinned Bush, no doubt about it.

well you know, past experiances allow him to know, that … when talking about a person… like a Libertarian… they will say certain things… and these things are likely to be what they think you want to hear… and he isnt interested in that, he is interested in results… like putting together a rally based around Libertarian principles… oh wait…
