How do you think people get bigger then? You can control some of the fat gain by cycling carbs. or taking a week to trim a bit, then 2 or 3 weeks of chowing down, trim, then chow. It doesn’t have to be a total one-way street.
Look at this guy and listen.

No i agree… im talking about like 1500 calorie meals… i just with i didnt spurge then have to take in smaller meals the rest of the day to make up for it… i just want discipline… but really great advice…

i have read all chris s clean bulk articals and i kinda like them… i have also purchased DR B’s PN plan and it helps somewhat but its more for leaning down or composition changes than just getting more mass…s2b might be more for me… here is day two

Day 2

Meal1-
1 cup oats 300
1 and half scoop whey 180
Oz nuts 200
680

Meal 2-
4 oz chicken breast 150
Cups and half wheat bran 175
Can green beans 80
Oz nuts 200
605

Meal 3-
4 scoops whey 480
4 cups oats 600
1 cup cherries 80
1160

Meal 4-
2 scoops whey 240
3 scoops Gatorade 150
390

Meal 5-
Half oz of nuts 100
Tbs peanut butter 100
Can of salmon 150
Can of spinach 70
420

Total 3560

I mean this isnt bad… just really wish i had that oatmeal meal after my workout opposed to right before… i descided to add about 20 minutes of cardio twice a week good idea?

I am about to take a week to back off then go at it hard again… im going camping with my older bro so i wont be able to pack it in anyways so its a good oppurtunity…

im really interested in the carb cycling thing… i have read ct’s articals… but isnt there just more of a simple way of only eating carbs in post workout six hours then on off days you just dont have carbs and skip the post wo shake?

i have read his bulk thread and damn he is about my size but all lean muscle… its makes my mouth drop open and drool seeps from the opening???

And if you read my post again you’ll realize that your assessment of my advice is off-base.

Did Professor X put you up to this?

Going by stats/numbers the kid IS bigger than you.

I don’t care what that kid says, he does not look 180lbs with 12-15% bodyfat.

please tell me what you think i look like… give me an estimate…
in that pic im more like 165 so there might be your issue… im 180 now not then… but i want to know your oppinion of bf and weight in the third pic… sorry no shoe but give me your best shot im curious

That would explain my confusion.

MJ, you have a good attitude. Lift hard and heavy (or get a pump and go for hypertrophy, to Rocksar’s delight).

Either way, don’t waste your time in the gym like I did for such a long time.

Keep us updated!
just wondering have you ever heard of Vince Delmotes Mass program… INTENSE MUSCLE GAIN? well its all about pushing more weight… i gave you all kind of an overveiw of what im trying to do… it is high weight for as many reps possible… which means like 6 then rest for 30 sec then 5 then rest then 3… not exactly that rep range but its to absolute failure so it varies…

isnt this very strength oriented… heavy weight 4 to 6 reps… sorry ive never truely understood difference between hytrophy and strength… i hear alot of people allude to it but i just pick up a certian peice of iron with small irons attached till i cant anymore… or am i oversimplifing

The key to progress is being able to define exactly what you want to achieve. Make sure you can quantify and verify your progress.

Make it as simple or complicated as you’d like.

Strength vs Hypertrophy
Strength is usually built by lifting heavy weight (70-90% of 1 RM, 2-5 reps) with minimal fatigue. For hypertrophy, 8-12 rep range and fatigue is sought after to get a good pump in the muscle.
There is a lot grey area, however.

From my blog,
“I’ve been doing the Anabolic Diet for 4 months now and it is the best decision I’ve ever made. Everything has improved: memory, fat loss, muslce gain, energy, endurance. The first 2 months were rough on my energy systems, though.”

We have just found the problem then. The food intake. This HAS to be consistent. Sure on certain days if you wish you can go higher, but if this is a binge day and then for 4 days you eat less, then you won’t grow or will progress very slowly.

Keep a food log for 2 weeks. Ensure you eat at least 3600 calories a day for those 2 weeks. If you want you can take slightly more but try NOT to eat less.

Once that is done, then PM me again and post here your gains.

We’ll take it from there.

It’s a great diet if you have the will power to stick to it. It really is as great as everybody says.

Good point, well when i was in 5th or 6th grade i weighed what i do now like topping out at 190 but then i hit my growth spurt and lost a few pounds last year i lost a tone of weight bottoming out at 150 lbs at my current height then from then till now i have gain up to about 180 with my bf going from about 9% to 11 or 12% however im currently bulking and my bf maybe higher.
190lbs in 5th or 6th grade? 11 or 12 years old. I am surprised guys here haven’t torn into you more for claiming to be 190. You need to get a new scale and a new set of realistic goals. How are you coming up with this 9 or 11 or 12% BF? Guessing? There is a big difference between 9 and 12% BF. Get a friggin measurement tool and stop guessing. Calorie intake? If you are worried about it, show your dedication and research it for crying out loud.

You shouldn’t care or use weight as a guage to how big you are getting. Look in the mirror man, you are very skinny for someone who claims to be 190.

Stop worrying about BF. If you want to gain true size you will have some extra fat. So what! The chicks will still dig you because you will still look better than 90% of the fat ass population. Not to include the extra confidence you will have from feeling good about yourself.

Show some dedication and put the camera down. If you are serious about putting on size, then do what most knuckle-heads on this forum are telling you. Eat big, lift big and have realistic goals.

You should be your own critic. Prove to yourself that you are dedicated. Self satisfaction is the best reward. (Except for sex, it’s always better with a partner.)

Good luck!
