What the…

Hahaha that’s pretty cool man. Pretty ridiculous, but pretty awesome. I always thought it was badass to see Mikhail and Sam Byrd doing the no-handed squats. How does it feel? it is significantly harder than a regular squat, or once you get the hang of it does it feel fairly similar?

Thanks man, Yeah it’s a little bit different then regular Squats. It takes some getting use too, but its not as hard as you would think. I would say the most weight you should use when doing them is about 50 to 75 pounds under your current max on Squats because your form changes a little for them. The weight doesn’t feel any heavier, but you have worry about balancing it on your back.

I just got it in my head one day while at the gym to try them, so I did lol I started with the bar, then 135, then 185, then 225, then 275, then 315 and so on… lol It is pretty awesome after you do them. Give it a try one day with the bar, and then go from there, the sky is the limit!!

Nice man, something you don’t see very often. Very cool

Dude this is so RAW it’s like MEGA-FUCKING-RAW-MOTHER-FUCKER.

No suit / no wraps / no belt / NO MOTHERFUCKING HANDS TOUCHING THE BAR.

You’re very strong – please don’t get hurt doing circus tricks like this.

Thats pretty badass. I’m curious, when you started messing around with these, did you feel as though it improved your form on regular squats? I ask because it reminds of that trick front squats of resting the bar on your delts with your arms extended all the way in front of you. That trick really helped a lot in learning to keep my chest up on front squats. Does this no handed back squat have a similar effect? Of course I realize that your technique is undoubtably very good already so you may not have noticed a huge improvement

This is fucking awesome.

Let’s not forget that lifting weights should have an element of fun and play to it!

Also would like to hear if it has affected your back squats at all, in actual weights or even your mental approach to squatting.

X2…I also found that it is easier to get into the groove with front squats when you do them with the arms out. I also warm up quicker this way. I have never thought of trying them with a back squat. Nice job OP, and VERY strong!

He would have to stand on a bosu ball for it to be a real circus trick. This is just RAW, as you said.

Because of the complete control, the weights almost look fake. Very weird, very cool.
