Awesome facility you have there!
Badminton coaches?? I find that very amusing! ![]()

Hi FightingScott,
SWEET JESUS THIS IS THE BEST EQUIPPED GYM I HAVE EVER SEEN!
Why thank you kindly for the complement!
Do you guys have a reverse hyper?
Oh, no… you had to go and do that didn’t you
Just when the thread was overwhelmingly positive - you had to force me to upset half of the audience by making me write the following:
No, we deliberately decided not to get one, as there are other exercises we can substitute in its place.
The justification - For the next couple of years, we expect the volume of clients to be biased away from the “perfectly set-up elite athlete with excellent recruitment patterns” end of the spectrum.
If we had a larger facility with more space and a higher proportion of correctly aligned athletes, then we’d probably get some.
(I hope that was diplomatically put - I know how much the rev hyper conversation tends to polarise people ![]()
Cheers!
The main reason I ask is because your facility seems to be identical in a lot of ways to the facility Joe Defranco has. And since you’ve got sleds, barbells, and glute-ham-raise benches I understand that you’ll be just fine without one. I’ll keep in mind not getting a reverse-hyper for a small facility the next time I dream about turning my garage into a gym.
This is the greatest thing ever - if I could come and visit that’d be great!
…for some reason I can’t PM you, if you could PM me about it, that’d be brilliant
Badminton probably requires more athleticism than either Tennis and Volleyball. Badminton is a game of lunging, jumping and constant change of direction, you’ll be surprised how much athleticism it requires to play a match.

An update about the employment stuff mentioned above…
…we had 70 CVs sent to us for the job, we had a number of interview sessions, and are imminently about to offer a job to two people.
Thanks to the t-nationers who have sent CVs so far… …if all goes according to plan, we’ll be recruiting again in 2008.
I saw the job pop up on EIS, i debated applying but im all the way in guildford.
Im even debating opening a similar/Joe Defranco inspired facility in guildford we have a good number of sports teams in the area and it seems like it might be viable.
Problem is having the confidence to make the dive into it
Your facility has defo inspired me
I’m not quite sure why this ended up in the powerlifting section (though trust me I’d LOVE some powerlifters at our place - please!!) - i think it was orginally posted in a strength sports section.
…but I just thought I’d tack on the end of the thread that there’s now a ‘3 year later’ follow-up over here:

How? How did T-Nation inspire you to build a Gym that focuses on Rugby or GPP?
On a side note, great gym. The only draw back is I didn’t really see a place to do Deadlifts. Still tho I would love to go to a gym that was like that. Great job

Yeah I know what you mean, there’s like no open floor space in there at all. I don’t know what this guy was thinking when he built the place.
Hey guys.
Not sure what happened to my previous post? shrugs maybe I accidentally clicked reset instead of submit.
I answered Alkoholiks questions - I’ll do it again when I get near a PC.
I promise you there’s plenty of room for deadlifts, plus 1000lbs worth of plates etc - you just can’t see it in the photos here ![]()

LOL. This is the most forced attempt at being sarcastic I’ve seen in a long time. I highly doubt he is going to let them doing DL’s on that astro turf and run the platforms he had to build for it.
I see you’ve been hiding since 2002, lets try to keep it that way.
OP, your gym looks great

Studying in Guildford myself I very much hope you do this!
And to OP congratulations on an excellent looking facility! I’m sure you’ve made many people in the area very happy!

Couldn’t link the post so here’s the picture from page 6. Look thru the whole thread next time you feel like flapping your gums.

I’ve looked through it twice and pictures don’t show up. If you also read my post dumbass I said that I didn’t see a place. I didn’t say there wasn’t one.
Do me a favor, read my post and comment on that. Once again, you must be new to sarcasm because you fucking suck at it. Learn to read.

I’m so upset that ALKoHoL licks balls isn’t impressed with my sarcasm.![]()
Saying you didn’t see a place implies that you don’t think there is one.
Look harder for the pictures, page 6 just passed halfway. Learn to see.

First, you can’t even fucking spell my name. It isn’t funny because it comes off as a 12 year old girl trying to be cool.

Yes, I didn’t see a place. I know it’s dark in your mother basement or if you’re just to fucking stupid, however the pictures aren’t loading for me. So, it really is hard for me to ‘learn to see’ if the pictures are properly showing up on my browers (Mozilla and Opera).
Lol, it’s so nice to see that tools are still here at T-Nation. You would think the heavy moderating would of stopped most of it. Troll on tool.

Tool Academy starts on 2/14, I think it is going to be a great season!
