@bassip21: In the case of the hanging 45 degree side lateral, I much prefer and recommend going with a lighter weight, since people tend to cheat and swing the weight when they initiate the movement. With a lighter weight, you can really focus on squeezing every rep, controlling the descent, and starting the next rep from a dead position, without any momentum. The amount of reps isn’t a main concern to me, but feeling every rep is!!! Thank you for your wishes, hope this will help you in your next delt training!
Monday Sept. 20th
Well, it was back to business for Darryl today, as the depletion diet and training were on the menu!!! His conditioning was fairly good, but in order to flush any water he might have from the slight binge, flight and sodium intake, he had to go thru 2 grueling training sessions, circuit style!!!
Tomorrow, he’s having a more normal day diet wise, meaning half a cup of rice per meal with his chicken, but again, two training sessions. since we’re leaving for Vegas tomorrow night! I’ve got to admit, Im very excited about this trip, lets just say that compare to Detroit (no offense good people from Detroit!!!), Vegas is a more appealing destination!!! Cant wait to meet all the guys, Jay, Phil, Kay and the rest, and also, cant wait for Darryl to make his mark in the 202’s.
We’ll be trying to bring him even dryer than Detroit, but also fuller, with his natural round muscle bellies. Cracking top 6 would be amazing, because that would mean an automatic qualification for next year’s Olympia… We sat down today me, Darryl, Tim Patterson and coach Thibaudeau (he was actually on speaker phone), and we review the strategy for this week, planning every last detail in order to be even better, bigger and tighter than Darryl was in Detroit.
So again, stay tuned, I’ll be posting frequently on Darryl’s physical changes, his mood, his diet and of course, I’ll try again to post live from the audience giving you the play by play as I see it live onstage!!!
Excellent

Ha, the possibilities on this one…
Alex, I know you’re focusing on Darly, but gotta ask… who do you like for Mr. O?
The funnel… lol. I’m assuming you are talking about the 'ANACONDA. My funnel right now is so caked over from over-use, it’s disgusting, hardly anything comes out of it anymore. Time to throw that away.
And if that’s not what you are talking about, kick me out of this thread for being a douche, lol.

Actually it’s because in Detroit Daryl couldn’t eat all that I asked. I told Alex to bring a funnel and blender for the O and force feed him if needed.
Ahhh! the good ol’ days of liquifying food to cram in more calories… takes me back ![]()

@therajraj: In my opinion, it’s again Jay’s show to loose! I see 1rst, Kai 2nd, Phil 3rd, Brench 4th, Dexter or Rolly WInclar 5th…but to my taste, Phil as the physique I like the most!!!
@The Mighty Stu: Yeah…been there, done that, along with the raw eggs and weight gainer shakes, holding a huge 5000 calories a pop!!! Good old dayssssss!
@all: Hey guys! Me, Kevin and Darryl are now at Denver’s airport, waiting for our flight to Vegas! Darryl had two last workouts today, hitting legs hard both times!!! He’s 191lbs, but this afternoon was holding a bit of water, which is only normal, after reintroducing carbs, sodium and water into his diet, but don’t worry, it’s already better tonight! Tomorrow, a final shoulder training is planned, then relaxing and later on the weigh-in. Since we want Darryl to come in even dryer and fuller this time around, he will carb deplete Thursday, then carb up on the first two meals on Friday, then it’s all out junk food, starting right after he cuts his water!!! Hopefully, since Darryl doesn’t have a big appetite, making him eat junk food will provide him with enough calories, carb and sodium to have that round look he posses…
So that’s it for now folks, will post tomorrow, let you know how Darryl looks and feels, and also, to tell you how nice the Trump Tower suites are!!! lol! Thanks so much Biotest!!!
Alex/Thib, what is the physiological purpose of having all that fat when he eats all the junk food?
@PB Andy: Correct me if Im wrong coach, but I think that in Darryl’s case, since he doesn’t have a big appetite at all and has trouble chowing down food, it’s a mater of getting the most calories\carbs\sodium in him after he cuts his water. That means eating calorie rich food, since the volume he can chow down is limited.
The fat content is merely collateral, if we could find food that is rich in carbs and sodium, without fats, I think it would be good also. But since low fat high calorie fast food doesn’t exist, at least to my knowledge, we go for normal junk food, fries, burgers, pizza, as they are more convenient…
@all: Hey guys!!! We just checked into our hotel…wow!!! We all have junior suites, city\pool view, at Trump Tower Hotel. Basically, it’s a small apartment, full kitchen, two bathrooms, king size bed…the works!!! Again, a big thank you to every one at Biotest for this wonderful experience!!!
The flight was short, 2 hours, and everything went well. We stopped at the grocery store on our way to the Hotel, Darryl started to buy stuff on his “after contest”, chips, all sorts of juices…he’s starting to stock on goodies!!! lol! But before that, we have a job to do…tomorrow, we begin the last stretch towards the big show, the Olympia! Can’t wait to see the improvements we’ll be able to make to Darryl’s physique…
The fats id imagine would also help with a little bit of ‘plumpness’ too due to storing IMT’s… obviously this isnt going to have the same affect of Glycogen storage, however the more the merrier right ![]()

Correct. You can store some triglycerides in the muscle, especially when in a severely depleted state. Everything you can cram in there will make the muscles look fuller.
This is an awesome thread, good luck, hope yall kick some ass this weekend
