ok, so, there were shenanigans on thursday night. phone died while i was talking to molly, finding my way to her house to crash. charger was in ohio.
3 hrs of sleep, a notable amount of beer, and 4 liters of water later…
she woke me up at 7, plenty of time to run out the door, get back to the hospital to see galileo, and then drive back to ohio to be ready for work at 1.
thought i knew my way back to the hospital. nope. got lost twice. decided to just go back to the highway. got lost again. got on the highway. make it back to cinci, gas light comes on, pull off at the Kings Island exit to fill up. there’s no exit for 71N. just 71S. i swear. i had to go about 6 miles around, following the signs for “to 71N”, to get back on. it would have been faster if i got on 71S and turned around or used another exit to get back on 71N.
make a wrong turn in columbus.
at this point im getting rather upset, because i CANNOT get in trouble for being late to work. no phone to call off, or let them know im gonna be late (and maybe adjust my schedule so i wouldnt be), and im planning exactly how long it will take to let the dog out and feed him, change, brush teeth, etc. its not looking good. at ALL.
get behind a state highway patrolman, who insists on going exactly the speed limit, and everyone else insists on going 3mph UNDER the speed limit. fuck that. i passed and set my cruise at 5mph over. i think that statey just likes fucking with people.
so all the calculations i made said i would have gotten home at 1240, which would have given me exactly 10 min to get ready for work. they must have been wrong, because i definitely got home with enough time to shower, change, take care of the dog, grab my phone charger, and run out the door. made it to work 2 min early.
im such an incredibly lucky bastard. theres no sense to it. at all.

third rep was the prettiest, and it was the second set of 3 at 265… a PR for me, and after the first set, i demanded that jim let me do it again, i swore that i could pull 285 (woulda been another pr). he said sure i could do it again, but it would be 265. thats why at the start, he says, “just like last time” and i say, “just like last time, only better!”
