I’m incredibly lucky to have the crew I do. I throw up a little in the back of my throat at the idea that I could have met people who liked crossfit when i was a newb.
Galileo had the best motivational text ever this morning:
“Go kill us some candyass final, baby. Stomp its little brains out onna floor in front of teacher and everyone and write ‘La Superbeasta wuz here,’ in its grey matter with the toe of yer shoe. In fronta everybody.”
there is food, and nap to follow. lifting this afternoon.
Now that your not seeing Jim anymore will he still be helping you with your lifting ? From all the videos I have seen on here he is a pretty good coach

third rep was the prettiest, and it was the second set of 3 at 265… a PR for me, and after the first set, i demanded that jim let me do it again, i swore that i could pull 285 (woulda been another pr). he said sure i could do it again, but it would be 265. thats why at the start, he says, “just like last time” and i say, “just like last time, only better!”
this has been in my hub. tsk tsk to you for not seeing it earlier. [/quote]
I want my back to look like yours. Instead of sticking my butt out and getting a nice arch like you do, I’m tucking my tailbone under and sitting in the hole with no arch even before I lift anything. I can do the butt-out-arch at light weights if I concentrate, but with not any weight that challenges me. Maybe my butt is too low…
on my way out, one of the late nite regulars came in, and gave me the acknowledging nod. never spoken to him, but i see him in there a lot. he benches 265 with his feet crossed and in the air.
so as im zipping up my coat, he comes over to me and says, “So, how much do you bench?”
after i realized he was serious, i said, “Close grip, wide grip, neutral? Incline, decline? Barbell, DB? 1rm or working weights? Strength or reps?”
blank stare in return.
“tonight i did 115x12, but my best is 155x3” -“oh, ok, i saw you in here the other night. you really get on it!”

I wonder how long California would still be in debt if everyone with a moving violation were caught and fined accordingly. Maybe the SHP could do something about that.
