My Hour of Need!!!

Phil,
Great news on your mom’s progress. Your story has inspired me to try and get my own mother lifting. Thanks for keeping us posted. We are all behind you.

No problem

It would be great if we can get some good out of this whole deal in the way of motivation for others.

I will keep the updates coming and try and get her to come on and give a comment or two when she is up to it.

Thanks again all.

You have all been a great help for me and my mom.

Phill

Well all is good with mom.

They took the rest of her hair off and today she got the stitches out.

She keeps calling me asking if this excersize or that will be O.K… I have had to hold her back. Really dont want her to strain something. The brain just isnt something I am comfortable toying with.

Also got a nice shipment of GROW. Thanks Biotest. It should help a lot. She has been a LC GROW junkie since she won the lurker contest. Also she has lost close to 15 lbs in less tha 2 weeks but still is having trouble putting down enough food. She is being able to slam a bunch of GROW though which should also help the healing due to the up in protein.

Well thats about it.

Oh and Happy B-day to my DAD

Phill

Well mom seems to be doing great. Still on a lot of meds and is quite loopy at times.

What I really wanted to update on is I just got off the phone with her and she had just been on the forumn lurking in the darkness today.

I am trying to get her to post. She is just new to all this internet conversations and such. But we’ll get her. She wants to, just has to take that step.

See ya,
Phill

I can understand lurking fearfully, wondering if your first post is going to be something SOOOO stupid and with an answer SOOOO self-evident that everyone dumps on you with responses like “wtf?” and “dumbass.”

But she has to realize that she is already the “real deal”: someone who has learned, and walked the walk, and made a significant change for the better in body composition. She deserves a moment to herself on the stage. So…c’mon Phyllis786! At least come out and take a bow.

(And remember to post your stats!)

I figured you all might like this. I received some photos of mom from mothers day.

Said she was trying to show me how tough she is, and well she is doing because when I left she was still in a hospitol bed.

Hope you enjoy, And thanks again to all.

Phill

Be honest: did you PhotoShop out the middle finger? She looks like she’s about to flip off the camera!

Just joking, Mom!

now thats tough!

an honest to goodness T-Woman!

Well mom goes in for her appointment to start radio tomorrow. Not looking forward to this, quite upset. They are talking possibly doing her whole body slowly to make sure that she is covered. So this could be a long drawn out process.

I cant wait to go back for a visit.

Phill

Phill,
Make sure she knows we’re still thinking about her and wishing her the best!
Tim

Phill, just want to say again that you are both in my thoughts and wish you the best.

thanks guys i should have more perticulars on the plan of attack tomorrow evening.

Thanks again
Phill

Well this will be breif as I am still sorting many things out in my head right now. I also have some phone calls to make to get some more knowledge on the situation.

Mom met with the radiologist today.

Once again the lifting and diet was a major factor. He said he has never seen anyone with what she has in her shape. She is the first in fact that can walk a straight line.

So mow the bad news. The surgen had led us to beleive that everything was very optimistic. We get the exact opposite from the radiologist.

To make this short I will just sum it up. He said since it is in her brain he is 99%sure it is growing other places.

She strats radio tomorrow ED for 2 weeks they are treating the whole brain, doesnt want to treat the rest of her body because when it does show itself then he cant treat it again and focus on it.

Also said that he suggest she does what ever it is she wants/enjoy/has longed to do. Pretty much do what you enjoy becasue the outlook isnt good.

She asked about lifting because the other doc said no. He told her do it if that is what u want to do.

So in short this sounds like a downhill struggle. He said very Shitty odds. Though she is in better shape than anyone he has seen it is all going to be down hill from here most likely.

Sorry to put it out here like this but I am still working through this myself and am in a state of shock kinda.

Thanks again for being there for us and I will continue to chime in, as I am working this stuff out and this is a great distraction.

Phill

Wow Phill, I’m so sorry to hear the news. I hope and pray for the best for you and your mom.

Phil,

Sorry to hear about all the ups and downs. Hopefully, everything turns around again.

Alot of people here are very appreciative of your insight and support. Now, we are here to support you.

Everyhing will work out. You’re the best!

Phill,

I was bit younger, but my uncle fought cancer, won, had a victory party for his birthday, then a few weeks later was diagnosed with a brain tumor. It was very tough.

It is important to know the odds and be prepared for any eventuality.

However, at the same time, you can’t let them (odds, doctors, etc) dictate your mood or resolve. They are just external issues. With hope, determination and a fighting spirit the odds are higher than without.

Anyhow, I’m sure you and your mother know that we are all here thinking of you both. As spectators we probably feel a bit helpless and at a loss for useful things to say… I know I feel that way sometimes anyway.

Thanks guys, again.

I talked to my dad to get news from another source and he pretty much confirmed everything I wrote earlier.

Only difference being that it is ten days of treatment not 2 weeks and the reasoning behind the thinking of the radiologist that it is in other places is due to the fact that it traveled in her blood from her lung to the brain. The body he says does a very good job protecting the brain so if it cropped up there it is elsewhere.

Thanks again,

Phill

Phill,
I hope everything goes well for your mom and you…hang in there and keep fighting.

I said a little prayer for you and your mom, Phill. I’ll keep you both there too.

Phill,

Just remember that prayers do get answered, and all your friends here at T-mag are saying lots of prayers for your mom. Stay strong for her but take care of yourself too.

You’re like a good friend to many people on this forum and we’re all here for you.
