Phill,

Great to hear that your Mom is on the road to recovery!

Phil- Glad things are going better now for your mother. Stay strong.

Good vibes and prayers or whatever works for you headed that way when I saw this earlier this morning. Glad things are looking up.

Thanks guys. Next hurdle is simply getting through May with a clean bill. That will be a great mental upper for sure. That will also brign on summer which will have me with much more time to get her butt back in shape. LOL Finding neat ways to incorporate HARD work with FUN.

Till then its the usual. Keep worikng on solid diet. the simple mental and educational stuff that is coming fast. Reinforcing her and making her the confident person I j=know is still there. As well as just bring up general fitness through walks and such.

Hopefull pics will be coming soon of us getting mixed up in all types of mischief.

Thanks again all,
Phill

Well I couldnt stand to post onm this thread until I had something GOOD to report. I just couldnt bring you all more bad news with all you all have done for me.

In my last post I had said we were simply hoping for a clean bill in May for the first time in three years. Well mom was doing AWESOME here with me. She went back at the end of April for a check up and BINGO. They found another Brain tumor. This one inoperable. It is on the motor unit area so surgery would leave her paralyzed on the left side. so would intensive radiation. So they opted for a less intensive radiation and just hopes it helps and didnt mess with her motor skill.

Good news I just picked her up and flew her here to stay with me again. The radiation is done. Good news is it didnt effect heer motor skills. Other than that we dont know anything. We will know more when I take her in for a check up next month.

So were back at it. With a bit of a change however. I will still be pressing the issue of nutriton rest excersize etc… But first and foremost now will be FUN. Having a GREAT time with the time we have.

Sop hopefully I will get some pics of us doing something cool.

Once again thanks for everything all, Just know we use all the support you pass to us for the best and as a great motivation and mom says Howdie,

Thanks,
Phill and Phyllis

Phill,

I just want to say I think you’re amazing. I’m sure there are a lot of dark times of the mind that you don’t bother recording here, but what you show us–your courage and perseverance in a difficult situation that is hammering your mom over and over, and your determination to do what’s best for her–are truly something I hope I could emulate under similar circumstances. I don’t think there’s a person on this site who doesn’t respect you for this, and for the way you offer advice to other posters.

Stay true.

Thanks TShaw.

I only hope this thread may help some others in a small way. To try and return a fraction of the help and motivation you all have given us.

Were gonna keep on keepin on as Long as we can.

Thanks again,
Phill

I am so sorry to hear about your mother. My mother is a cancer survivor and I know yours can be too.

Stay strong and please continue to update us.

Know that you and your family our in our thoughts and prayers.

JimmyZ

Well its been a bit since I put up a pic of mom. here she is yesterday after two days of running around DC seeing the sights this is at the Kennedy grave site.

This is after Cancer treatment/surgery #4. Not to shabby I have to say and were only 2 days into our return progress.

Just some proof were working hard still and putting all your support to use.

see ya,
Phill

Well more of the on going saga we will label recovery part IV “Never Given’ In”

A few more pics of me taken mom out for exercise disguised as enjoyment. She has some blisters on her tootsies to show for it but is having fun for the most part. LOL.

when she rest I also get time to skecth her and other various things to keep in practice.

I’ll try and get up a few a week as I get some good ones. It is time for this thread to have some JOY in it and maybe a bit of inspiration for others.

Tomorrow will also bring us starting her working out again. I have decided since I am currently being beatin down with enjoyment and hell by Charles’s EDT I will do the same with mom. Starting slow of course. No where near what I hadf her doing before with DL’s, ATG squats and overhead presses. I am starting with bodyweight and 20 nminute pr zones. 2-3 times a week along with walking, rest and GREAT nutrition. We’ll see how nit goes.

Once again Thanks all,
Phill

LIL R&R / Sketch time. lol

this was at a dog excersize area. She as well as I love dogs. It was great, and I wish I could have caught a pic of the labs that came up and checked her out from time to time while kicked back.

Also a great vthing being the one behind the camera and I can out run her so no pics are snapped of me.

Have a goodn’ thats all for today,
Phill

Well for someone that has went through what she has, you’re mom looks very healthy!

Thanks conor. Thats what I try and convince her as well.

Well mom just finished her first EDT w/o. starting off slow and she felt it. LOL

She did better than I expected.
Like I said 1 20 minute PR zone three times a week to start. Today was bodyweight squats and pull downs. She got 59 of them bad boys out and then I had the joy of helping her walk out of the gym. Atleast we only had to go down the hall as my power rack etc… is in home.

Tomorrow is rest for the both of us as I did my EDT today as well. Think were going fishing. I’ll snap some picks.

See ya,
Phill

Proof LOL

The largest was the Blue though only pushing 3lbs plus I would guess.

The damn cameras batteries ran out though.

We may go again tomorrow so if we get a biggun i’ll be sure to have fresh batteries.

Ltr,
Phill

No new pics as we went fishing again and didnt catch as many but it was a nice day none the less.

Also it was day # 2 for moms EDT. She was a little less apprehensive today. Which was good. Monday she was nervous as to what I would be having her doing etc… Pushing her to far. I really think EDT is great for someone in her position really adapting to her level right now and growing with her as improvement comes. I’m digging it as well. Brutal but fun.

Anyhow her 20 min. PR zone today was rack pulls and incline bench press. Once again did very well.

See you,
Phill

Dude, that’s awesome that you are helping her out so much. You are truly “honoring your … mother”.

And she seems to be doing great. (I didn’t see this thread back when you first started it; thanks for all the follow-ups.)

Be well,
Matthew

Phil,

I know we’re both dealing with very similar situations.

I just wanted to thank you for your support and let you know that I’ve got your back as well.

No matter what, we’ll pull through this, and hopefully, we’ll both have good news come our way and see our parents pull through too.

Most of us can’t imagine what you are going through. Your whole family are in our prayers. Keep the faith and stay strong. God Bless.
