Nine Inch Nails (not a big fan of Year Zero though)
A Perfect Circle
Dream Theater (the greatest gathering of musical talent at this time)
Puscifer (I love Maynard’s music what can i say.)
Top 5 songs:
Tool - Lateralus
A Perfect Circle - 3 Libras
Priestess - Lay Down
Nine Inch Nails - March of the Pigs
Tool - Stinkfist
You need to check out ASHES dIVIDE, which is Billy Howerdel’s new project. Sounds alot like APC, which at this point will probably never exist again. Debut album coming soon, I think:
These threads are always fun, and they are a good place to come for new music.
My ipod plays…
1)Black Label Society
-Counterfeit God
-Phoney Smiles and Fake Hellos
-Blackened Waters
2)Alice in Chains
I don’t think I need to list any of theirs…
3)Megadeth
4)Metallica
5)Soil
Their early stuff…not really a fan of their new stuff at all
6)Some Chevelle
7)Killswitch Engage
8)Tool
9)Stone Temple Pilots
-most anything off Core
10)Soundgarden
-mostly stuff off of Blackmotorfinger and Louderthanlove
11)Rage Against the Machine
12)2Pac
-Hit em Up

Yeah, the stuff sounds good. I’m very anxciously awating the full album.
Other bands to punch you in the face while you work out:
Sothis
The Black Dahlia Murder (may have mentioned them before, idk)
All That Remains
Trivium (Ascendancy album only)
The Last Days of Humanity
None of this is that pussy ass alternative metal that would dare to be played on the radio, for those of you not familiar with real metal.
I need to listen to music that SOUNDS like heavy iron. No dance beats or hip-hop for me. Nothing speedy either.
. Alice In Chains- Dirt album
. Soundgarden- Bad Motorfinger album(the tune Slaves And Bulldozers effin KILLS!)
. Black Sabbath- Dehumanizer album (this record is heavier and angrier than any other Sabbath album… mainly because DIO is up front)
Strangely enough my mother lives in a fancy county club, well actually that is not the strange thing, but one day they were asking members what music they would like to hear. Unfortunately for me they found that it would be best to ask me during one of my dead lift sets. Irrelevant, I jokingly said Mariah Carey. To my surprise I was back in there a few weeks later and I hear a few high school kids complaining about all the Mariah Carey that they had been playing lately.
Back to topic, I usually lift to Guns N’ Roses and Zeppelin. But who knows I sometimes end up with stuff like Taylor Swift all the way to Buju Banton depending on the number of set and reps. It is all about mood for me.

I liked some of ember to inferno and a few songs off the crusade, namely detonation, entrance, and sadness will sear

heaven and hell (blck sabbath with dio)
Barracuda (who did this song originally?)
van halen
thin lizzy
Thin Lizzy, that was a great band. Phil Lynott’s voice is unique.
For newer stuff, I love Afghan Whigs / Twilight Singers / Gutter Twins (Mark Lanegan + Greg Dully)

Touche’ i forgot about Ember to Inferno. The Crusade is such a double edged sword for me. His vocals stank on a lot of the tracks, but there are a few good songs.
Cant beat a bit of old school awesomeness such as ACDC, Motorhead, Mettalica, Ozzy/Black Sabbath, Pantera, Megadeth, Iron Maiden. Whereas the newer side of things…
Devildriver
Machinehead
Rob Zombie
Godsmack
Disturbed
Soil
Shadows Fall
Dope
Slipknot
This stuff pumps me right up, perefection of Workout Music…

yeah, But the thing is in a few interviews the crusade is the kind of music they always wanted to play, because they were mostly influenced by the early thrash scene. Even if the cd wasn’t that great they are one of the few bands that are reletively young playing that style of music and having that huge of a fanbase.
Wolves In The Throne Room - “Behold the Vastness and Sorrow”
Amazing Black Metal from Oregon, of all places. I’d recommend the few of you out there that aren’t slaves to Billboard Mainstream Radio try it out. (if you’re into Black Metal, that is)

American Black Metal?
Agh, it’s just not the same.
Then again, I bet it’s better than the Afghani BM my buddy sent to me yesterday.

Now now, don’t tune them out just because they’re not from Norway. It’s generally accepted that Burzum made some incredible music, namely "Det Sm Engang Var and “Hvis Lyset Oss”. Wolves In The Throne Room have basically done what Burzum did. They sound like early Burzum, and you should give them a chance.
