No, I agree. In fact I have first hand experiance. My father was suffereing from a very bad ulcer. He read this old wives tail about the soda relieving the acidity. So he tried it. As soon as it hit his stomach it literally exploded. It ripped his ulcer even further and practically burst his guts. He’s lucky he didn’t end up bleeding from the gut to death.
