Muscle Milk

Under one school of nutritional thought, yes. But if you’re going by that criteria, then consider MM a PWO shake as well.

if you go to the NCAA site you’ll find they have gotten pretty involved with nutrition and suppliments. They now have a fairly large list of banned substances; and they are not in favor of supplimentation.

Look, there’s nothing magic about this stuff.

-The protein blend is good.
-The taste is incredible.
-Macronutrient ratio isn’t ideal, but isn’t bad. However, as has been state repeatedly by Mr. King, Cytosport leads you to believe the majority of the fat comes from MCTs, when in fact more comes from canola oil. However, the bigger issue with the added carbs and fat is as follows…

-CALORIES. Holy fucking Jesus batman, could possibly, just maybe, by a long shot, the reason why this, when added to your diet instead of a regular protein shake result in more gains, be the fact that it has much more calories than a protein shake? Its a high quality blend of proteins with some carbs and fat in it to get the calorie content higher. Two servings of this in water gives you something like 700 calories.

Adequate calories are essential to gains in size and strength.

I don’t trust the glycocyamine, and Metabolic Drive is just too good without anything questionable in it. Muscle Milk is fine if you want to use it, but its not some magic elixir holy-grail of shakes.

What does this have to do with certain athletic programs using specific products donated to them?

Just because the NCAA has a banned-substance list doesn’t mean they actually know anything about effective supplementation or nutrition for athletes.

Good points. Throw some heavy cream/flax/olive oil and oats with micellar protein into a blender. Money saved, problem solved.

Nail on the mothafuckin’ head.

Sorry. All this snakes on a plane talk…

Chris, no one uses crap, unless their stupid. Just because someone donates something does mean they use it, the difference here is they are using it because as stated above it is a good protein source. Holy grail of protein NO! but it is a good product for gaining good quality size.

Sometimes they use products out of ignorance and gullability, and it’s they’re, not their.

did they change the muscle milk recipe or something 'cause i tried it a couple times that and shit was so bad i didn’t finish either shake. i’m serious, it was that nappy. i can’t believe you guys are talking about the same product.

Did you use the powder or ready-to-drink, swivel?

Well, it doesn’t really matter I guess. Muscle Milk’s main claim to fame is its uber-deliciousness (still no Metabolic Drive though.) If you didn’t like it, you’re one of the few. You aren’t missing anything though.

pbody, thanks for the correction, spelling is not my strong suit.

Post the flavor.

I’m pretty sure that if company X were to donate enough protein and $$$ to an athletic program, a schools administrators would take it and have their athletes use supplement.

Major University athletic programs are big businesses and money talks. The fact thay some may use a certain product doesn’t give it any credibility, beyond being free of banned substances, in my view.

This cat was asking bout muscle milk not Grow! Man I couldn’t give grow away at the store I work at. That stuff ended up going out of date and I had to take a huge profit loss and pass it out to my employees for free.

Anyways Muscle milk is a really good protien I drink it all the time and I can see the striations on my body so it musn’t be too bad for yuh.

Has anyone gotten fat off of muscle milk? I really have yet to meet anyone who has. Most people seem to lose weight with it.

As noted, the glycocyamine addition is a bit sketchy, but also don’t forget that supplementing with creatine lowers homocysteine, so to me, taking the 2 balances things out…

And about the taste of it. Hell, I could eat the powder by itself. I know when I get a clump of it in my shake, I don’t choke it down or spit the chunk out like with other products. I actually savor the chunks

This ain’t the 1980’s. What’s wrong with you people?

Sugars make people fat.

Isn’t there a Biotest supp with 50g sugar/serving?

Yeah, it’s called Surge, maybe you should read up on it. Guess you haven’t read anything about nutrition in the last say, 5yrs. [/quote]

Hey, settle down boy. Just go drink Muscle Milk and youll feel refreshed and ready for action again.
