Muscle Milk and Grow!

I saw where several people recomended Grow! over Muscle Milk. But according to the info on this site Grow! is just Whey…where as a MM has M Casein, something that is useful at night…where as whey digest in an hour to 1 1/2 hours…not so great for night…so why would I want to order Grow! over a batch of MM?

I say you order Low Carb Metabolic Drive over Muscle Milk any day of the week. It’s got everything you need.

I’d avoid Muscle Milk unless you want a ton of canola oil in your protein.

Metabolic Drive was originally called Grow!.. so the posts you were reading were referring to Metabolic Drive.

I like the fats in muscle milk. Sort of like a not-so-bad weight gainer.

Here is another one for your reading enjoyment.

As the link Nate gave you showed Metabolic Drive contains micellar casein, so does Metabolic Drive Complete.

D

You must be mistaken. I have used Metabolic Drive for quite some time and it has always had micellar casein in it.

I prefer the taste of Metabolic Drive over Muscle Milk, but that is just my opinion. However, I do feel Metabolic Drive is better quality.

Christopher

MM has too many carbs(simple) and high in fat(canola oil). if that suits your bill go for it. It also contains glycocyamine which David Barr has warned us about.

I also find it gives you helllllllllllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa gas. not like Metabolic Drive, actually Metabolic Drive, Surge, and Grow!, are the only MRP’s i have ever eaten/drank that did not give me excessive god damn gas, in fact, they give me no gas at all.

any other MRP on the market i have tried, gives me gas. seriously, it’s not cool when i’m trying to go out with a date and i have massive gas cuz of some shitty whey, god damn those companies for ruining my chances on so many nights shakes a fist.

I’m guessing he is thinking of the Grow! powder Biotest has out now that is straight-up whey.

Yeah, I believe you are right. That is why I always stress to new members go into the store and read the information articles on the assorted products. That way they can formulate a plan as to when each product would be of value.

Such as Surge post workout, Metabolic Drive when watching carb intake, Metabolic Drive Complete when cals or carbs aren’t a concern or when bulking, Premium Grow! Whey, when budgeting, and so forth.

D

Alright I can see the uses of Metabolic Drive over MM and will switch accordingly. Lets compare 2 more products.
Grow! Whey compared to ON Whey Gold(wich ive been taking and love)
and Surge to my usual ON Whey Gold mixed with Gatorade powder.
Thanks for the information guys!

According to Barr, Glycocimine is suppose to elevate homocysteine, which he states equals to cardiovascular disease.

Furthermore, the American Heart Association has not labeled hyperhomocysteinemia as a risk factor for
cardiovascular disease.
AHA Recommendation

The American Heart Association has not yet called hyperhomocysteinemia (high homocysteine level in the blood) a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease.

How do folic acid and other B vitamins affect homocysteine levels?

Folic acid and other B vitamins help break down homocysteine in the body. Homocysteine levels in the blood are strongly influenced by diet and genetic factors. Dietary folic acid and vitamins B-6 and B-12 have the greatest effects.
Anywho,
Biotest has 3 protein supplements to suit your fancy. 4 if you count Surge, but is designed for Post-Workout.

I’m curious as to see how this plays out. Today I purchased a tub of MM from GNC, simply because I got a discount on Gold Card. I was looking for a higher quality powder to mix with my Grow! Whey which is honestly too plain for me. I guess I didn’t realize it was more “natural flavor” than “sweet cream”. The label even says that. Do’h!

Should I return my unopened tub and order some Metabolic Drive which I know and trust? Or is MM relatively close? The RTD’s of musclemilk aren’t too bad and I kind of like them.

Mix in half to a whole cup of chocolate Carb Countdown milk with the Grow! Whey and be done with it.

Or just get some extracts. I.e. Coconut extract, almond extract, etc. These add a ton of flavor and there are a bunch of them out there.

Both cost the same and are pretty much the same product. I actually mix the Grow! into gatorade after exercise and it ROCKS. It seriously makes the Gatorade taste way better (whey better). Like a nice creamy cmoothie or something.

I don’t see any flavors of ON to mix with gatorade really… Cookies and cream, Rocky Road?? I guess Vanilla.

Strawberry on and gatorade mix fine.

Ah, yes. I still refer to Metabolic Drive as Grow!. It really isn’t that hard, but I seem to be having a difficult time calling it by its new name.

In fact, my original post only used the term “Grow!” in it, so I guess the mod edited it and replaced it with Metabolic Drive.
