Muscle Growth: Do Genetic Limits Exist?

i was reading some of the thoughts on this subject in the think tank, and i wanted to see what people here thought. it seems to me that there is something of a genetic limit. when we reach a certain age, isn’t it true that we start losing our strength if we’re already in great shape? now, i realize for those in great shape, this is quite a bit later. assuming that point does exist, even if we follow all the great guidelines for gains in strength and hypertrophy, there’s only so much progress that can be made before that age. so, it seems to me the genetic peak would be if a person has done everything possible to maximize progress from the soonest point they could consistently until they reach this age. as in, you’d have to start hard training at a young age (at least teenager, maybe even as a preteen), you would have to have perfectly followed all the guidelines right from the beginning, and you would have to perfectly follow every progress guideline until you reach the age where strength begins to diminish. the progress that would be made under such conditions is what i would call the “genetic peak”. now, considering steroids can speed up this growth, then more progress could be made in this time frame of the person’s life, so it could be argued that steroids do raise the genetic limit. but, considering the strictness of those conditions, only maybe a handful of people if any truly have to question what their genetic peak is.
