53 yo, 5ft9 weighing 120kg. On TRT and bloods monitored regularly.
I struggle to shed weight, bf% probably 17%. Diet at 120g protein, 180g fats and minimal carbs.
But I struggle to get to some weight below 120kg.
Been training since 1990. Powerlifting and heavy duty until 2020, more science based since then, also due to injuries.
I don’t understand your topic title here. It appears you are eating at least 2100 calories, without factoring in carbs. You are eating a near 4:1 fat to protein ratio here as far as calories go: a clinical ketogenic diet. Is there a reason for this?
17% bodyfat at 120kg and 5’9 is ridiculously jacked. I say as a fellow 5’9 lifter. If those stats are accurate, you are a unique specimen.
Additionally, this is about half what I’d expect (based on your weight) from those of us that started lifting in the 90s. Is there something medical going on?
It’s definitely what I thought was interesting: they’re almost exactly a clinical ketogenic diet level of protein. It’s like something Robert Sikes would run toward the end of competition prep. Or, quite possibly, a recommendation from a nephrologist for someone with some sort of advanced state of kidney failure, which could certainly be in the cards for someone with a history of high blood pressure and PED abuse.
