Nope.

The Arian race (with one exception in place 6 or wherever Rockel is) got owned and is sitting in places 15 and 16 or so

Why the hell do so many of those bodybuilding clips have a “confirm birthdate” warning on them? Someone thinks looking at them will harm the children?

Is it just me or does he try to imitate Ruehl’s “I’M HAPPY LIKE A 13 YEAR OLD BOY IN A WHORE HOUSE WHERE EVERY GIRL IS FOR FREE AND NO ONE CALLS HIM LITTLE JOHNNIE! AND I’M FUCKING GRINNIN’ AN’ LAUGHIN’ LIKE COWBOY69 DOES WHILE HE’S BEATING THE SHIT OUT OF A CHICK’S ASS WITH A MOTHERFUCKIN’ BASEBALL BAT” -expression?
Failing to imitate, I mean, but hey. He seems to show more emotion than usual.
Probably had an emotion-chip implanted before the show or something.

Maybe, after a fucking decade, he finally started listening to the people who pointed out what a boring log he appears to be whenever he shows who he is on camera.

Maybe he needs acting lessons.

Well, I doubt he literally had “I must impersonate Markus Ruhl” in mind when he stepped out on stage. I’m also too lazy to look up shots of him from years past to see his facial expressions.

My guess: he came in spot on and he knew it. He knew it was his to win, got a huge confidence boost from it, and used that energy to fuel the crowd.

No one pulls off the ‘kid in a candy store’ expression like Ruhl, though.

IT IS YOU!

I was wondering who this J-J was…I thought to myself: "This guy just joined this month and already he is roaming the boards a la Le Cock Sportif style; throwing his weight in, who does he think he is?..

LOL!!!

I should have known it was you - you FOOLED ME! That is a rare feat, lol!
I was wondering where you had been - lol.
I could smell you, though…the scent was there…hahaha!
You really got me, damn you Brook!

However of course if you mean to learn what the judges are looking for… that is also tricky IMO as it varies - which is one reason why so many were enthralled by this years O as there were a number of vastly different (relatively speaking) BB’s who had a shot. No. Who knows what these people look for. Besides I distrust them on account of politics and business opportunism: The physique that may bring more money into the sport may be favored, etc.
I agree.

Ahh see… i LIKE that. I find the more delicate posing of certain physiques to be very tasteful actually, something that reminds me of grecian masculinity or something… achilles maybe.
There is also the view (i hold) of when one is very muscular and highly developed it looks good - modest somehow - to not stomp around grunting. It is more refined IMO.

I am honestly not sure if it is done like that - while i have been a bodybuilding fan for years it is only recently (the past 1-2) that i have had conversations with like minded individuals on the matter.
As far as your own taste - i am not sure that can be analyzed without delving into such factors as how you view men in general, your relationship with your father… etc

I know to whom you refer

I have heard him say the same thing - (tell him that in the UK scene, shaved gorillas win all the time…) and honestly it is not as much as issue as he thinks.
I too am more a fan of the classic aesthetic - so in top level Pro ranks this simply means those with less gut… (whether that is from the slin, GH or IGF - likely the IGF from all three.) but in the UK the heavy guys (over 100kg; as i know our friend is) are ALL thick waisted and square in build yet do well. There is something about the british man that makes us shorter and thicker (no, not mentally) than many others… europeans, africans and americans even.
We are solid little blocks of functional muscle from wrestling with wooly mammoths and sabre-tooth tigers… and lad-ettes.

That is where the teaching comes in i think - as bodybuilding is NOT about the look of power. it is about the following:

Mass - being overall size
Muscularity - being the size of muscles
Definition
Proportion - being the size of muscle relative to one another
Balance - upper/lower
Symmetry - left/right

I think there are 1-2 more but cannot think right now. Just as a sprinter needs to run faster than 10 seconds as standard, a bodybuilder needs a minimum shoulder/waist ratio… needs full muscles but not at the sake of losing shape and proportion.

Well what i was saying was that some men, due to the shape or design of their muscle - while they can increase it’s size, it wont be pretty. Much like the short bicep syndrome (or wide waist)… it is something that will never change but always be punished (i expect).

Of course i think that as clothes and hairstyles change - so does the physique ideal.
The ideal in the early 20th C was quite far removed from the ideal in the 50’s… and again now.
I think in 2050 it will be different again… and seeing as we have been influenced by the increased ability to gro wot inhumane proportions already… it may well be a return (as many hope) to the slimmer more ‘feminine’ proportions of the athletes from the 70’s and before.
(i think it will not - but be a hybrid of some design).
I think it is best to use Ruhl as an example of bad genetics. He is massive. As big as you’d ever want to be - bigger even. In that regard he has some very good genetics indeed.
However due to his structure he is hunched forward (Jay too needs to sort out his posture as he too is getting the hunched forward posture that affects his posing negatively) and is not put together with the wide shoulders, sweeping thighs and slim waist as is looked for in bodybuilding AS A RULE. This combination of massive legs and shoulders and chest and slim waist is not the look of power, in my opinion. I would not chose a male whose waist line appeared more fragile than mine. Seriously, don’t give up on your obliques.
Though I don’t like men being modeled after Barbies I do agree on Ruhl.
But you must remember it is proportion… those men on stage who look to have feminine waistlines are still 31"-32" waists at 3% bodyfat! So the rest of the year they will be pushing 34"-36".
It is the illusion of slender aesthetic while being massively muscular that is desired… not actually being a barbie doll man. Those can be found at any art university…

lol! i think it is more that his shoulders are too developed… this is apparent from all angles… front bi you see a silhouette like the loch ness monster, from one bicep to the delt to the head then the other delt and the far bicep…!

Actually it was proven that the loch ness monster was actually just Markus Ruhl taking a dip on holiday in Scotland you know…? Feel free to spread that as fact…
