Met him in 97 at Camp Pendleton. Super cool and freakish. Sad he passed
Dude looked awesome. That era is gone forever. The new crop sinply lacks that level of conditioning. I think it’s lack of discipline and work ethic. Too busy playing on cell phones instead of training.
Ron is a class act IMO. Perfect example of how many of today’s pros couldn’t hold a candle to the amateurs of the 80’s and 90’s. Really sheds light on some folks running their mouths today about “how it’s done” too.
We had Ron on one of our old Podcasts… Link @BrickHead ?

Impressive.
Glad I was there for the Dorian, Levrone, Nasser, Ray, Flex, Matarazzo, Sarcev, Taylor, Coleman, Cutler… Era. I really think today’s pro’s lack the intensity, discipline and work ethic of those guys.
I’ve listened to several episodes of halls pod cast. Are you guys still recording them? Love the insight and you guys are entertaining.
Jesus christ
Thank you! Unfortunately it died down because of life though I’ve considered making personal videos on diet and the gym. I have NOTHING new to say But I don’t think this should stop anyone because no one else does either.
Also what I’d wanna do is a lot of interviews.
That’s understandable.
Man yeah I’d love to here some interviews from some old school guys even. There’s a YouTube channel called golden era bookworm . He has some interviews with reg Park. And other guys as well. But what he has that is really cool is old school lifting books and pamphlets that were literally the only way 100 years ago to learn anything about lifting or bodybuilding. He has stuff on the first dietary supplement etc.
He does have some stuff I think is outlandish but the pure history content he has put together is very interesting.
Nice. I’ll check it. I was thinking maybe interviewing other people I know in nutrition and people besides in hardcore BB. Did you listen to our interview with Rick Collins, former T-mag contributor, the “steroid lawyer”?
I met Dan Duchaine once. He was buying Designer Protein at a shop 5 miles from his own factory. Ha. Real nice dude. Genius regarding roids
He had a funny writing articles. He was a huge oddball and he knew it. Bodyopus was a good book.
I haven’t listened to that one yet. I’m behind on my podcasts but I’m gonna get caught up lol
It was good. We never got around to putting these on iTunes, Podbean, etc. I’ve learned it’s very difficult to meet up with people frequently when both have jobs and children.
I had Bodyopus so long ago… Remember the uber shredded dude on the cover ? The crazy carb loads… Dude was a genius
You can podcast with both of you in your own living rooms at 9pm. A couple mics and head sets and you’re good to go. How many RDs are also bodybuilding nerds? You’ve got an angle and Stu creates pro card people. I would listen at least lmao.
I forgot the name of the guy. I think he was an Australian or European bodybuilder.
I miss those days. We trained like animals. No cell phone addicts. No thots. Less douchebags.
