Mr. Hammond, the phones are working...

Alrightly, time to update!

First off, THANK F*CK to all of you for giving me the powerlifting itch again. I am so damn excited about all of my workouts it isn’t even funny.

LITTLE FIRE INSIDE ME HAS RETURNED!!

MMKAY

Wedneday’s deadlifts=awesome-nesss

130 x 5
150 x 5
175 x 11 <–Satisfied with an 11 for my all out, fa sho.
140 x 17!!! YAAA ← this felt bloody awesome. It was weird, I was like in this moment of wow, I think I could rep this forever. I am not even sure why I stopped at 17. I think I coulda done 20 +. It was really a super cool case of being totally in the moment and connected with my mind telling me that I was capable of one more rep.
COOL

okay then some RDL’s 100lbs 3 sets of 10 yadda yadda
some uhh leg pressing
lying leg curling
prowler

GOOD

Thursdays Military press

I am so weak at this I don’t even want to post my numbers, but I want something to look back on, ha-ha.

ALSO, NO push pressing allowed for moi! Gotta keep it kosher, or something.

um 45 x 5
55 x 5
60 x 10 ← OH i also like how all my max reps sets were different numbers for this week. I don’t know why, i just like that, heh.
55 x 11

shouldery circuit thingie, some rear delt shit, leg lifts, etc etc

TODAY I did some back and bicep stuffaroo

I gave myself a 50 pull up challenge. I had as long as I wanted, but it was JUST pull ups until I completed 50. Some of my sets were like 3 so it felt like it was going to take forever. I did indeed solider on, (all different grips and stuff though, so technically some of them were chin ups and not pull ups, LOL I AM SO ANAL)

Okay ya some bent over row
65, 75, 85 lbs, tried a few reps at 95 lbs but definetly cheated a bit, oh well.
THen boring bicep shit, lat pull down shit. MMKAY doNE! Tomorrow is rest day.

I don’t want to do HiiT in my life right now. My workouts make me feel tired. I am content doing steady state, I dunno what’s good for steady state though. My legs feel tired, but I want to get my heart rate up.
NOT SURE. I enjoy cardio, I just wish I could get that heart poundy sweaty feeling without my legs being like " UMM GEt off this machine and put us to rest!"

Ideas??

Another random kid picture to lighten this page up!!

ICE SLIDE

Keep it up there spock, i’ve been lurking a wee bit. But dangit git back on the platform, you know in your heart that you belong out there. Now find a meet and get to it. You have alot of awesome people here that will help you out.

^ right up there was one of the prettiest descriptions of deadlifting love i ever saw.

I don’t know anyone who loves cardio.

why do you think you need it? just to feel healthy and stuff?

That’s an insane number of deadlifts. I think you should go hang out with Nadia, you crazy rep whores.

As for cardio, back when I was able to run, I just used to like to run outside. I could run for well over an hour quite happily (eventually did a half marathon in 2 hrs 18, which is slow, but I’m not built for speed). Going outdoors, the scenery and fresh air distracts you from the discomfort, most of the time, and I am able to daydream or figure stuff out in my head as I go. Unfortunately I’ve been injured since July so no running for me. If running is out, you could walk - stick some weights in a backpack if you want to up the intensity. I heartily believe outdoors is where it’s at as far as cardio goes.

Ha! my first thought was this…you’re doing:

175x11
145x17

I think you’ve got the cardio taken care of!

Seriously though, I love incline walking. If you can find a treadmill that can go up to like, 20%+ and put the mph low (2.2ish), it’ll get your heart pumping without a lot of stress on the legs.

I LOVE seeing the spark come back in ya. x2 on Heracles…just start thinking about competing again (imagine how wet those panties will get once your’e actually ON the platform!)

Powerlifting = high reps???

if you want to do some steady state without the legs go for the rower - PerfectDrug is a big fan of those.

Spock, I don’t know if this is an option, but you could try swimming for your cardio.

That would put very little load on the legs.

If all you want is to get your heart rate up and that sweaty feeling…

There are other ways to do it.

I use playing hockey as my HIIT training. Finding something you enjoy is the key.

I got this advice a while ago and have found it to be spot on. Get thee to the rower.

Holllllla T-Nationers!

I think I was doing some serious soul searching whilst I slept last night. WHICH could explain the reason as to why I was in bed from 10 at night until 8 in the freaking morning. Realizations must be tiring on the sub-conscious.

Anyway, enough stupid mumbo jumbo, the very first thought I had when I woke up was I WANT TO F**KING BE strong again god damn everything else, this is so IMPORTANT TO ME!!!

When I took time off from heavy-ier (ish) lifting to lose weight I was scared to death of getting weak. Now that I want to get strong again I am scared to death of getting fat.
I’m ALWAYS scared of something. A-L-W-A-Y-S. I’m scared of the grocery store running out of fresh looking asparagus, I’m scared of briges, and pigeons. I’m scared of boys who try to talk to me. I’m scared of failing school, missing green lights. HELL I think I’m scared of the damn pebble muck on my front hall matt.

WELL NO MORE! Enough, I says to myself, I’ve had enough. Let whatever happens simply happen.

I feel like I’m really going at it right this time. I left my ego at the door and started under my max weights. I’m forcing myself to have the patience it requires to get strong. I promised myself I would deload properly and take off days. So dammit, a change is in the works. YEP.

OKAY 3x3 Squat day for moi

95 x 3
115 x 3
120 x 10 <–this was secretly 11 but my first rep was woobly so I didn’t count it, HA-HA!
then back down
115 x 3
105 x 3
95 x 17 ← my odd new magical number for the leg destroying awesomeness.

Post-squatting high! The more I squat with perfect form and depth the better at it I shall be.

Front squats
65 x 6
75 x 6
85 x 3
95 x 3
75 x 8

Uhh then leg press, leg extensions, calf shit OHH I did some hyper extensions and held a lil dumbbell behind my head and I realized that made it so delightfully f-ing hard. HAPPPPY, can’t wait to increase the weight on that bad boy.

All finished and knackered out. Knackered, Cal, is that an expression from your side of the pond? You guys talk way cooler than us Canadians, that’s for sure.

OKAY BYE!

Somehow I can’t quote. SPIDER APPROVES THIS POST! Let us know how we can help. :-)

Hahahaha this COURAGE WOLF is for you Spock

Damnit i like that courage wolf Hallowed. Saved that one to my collection. Listening to FFDP “back for more” while reading that courage wolf is the shit btw.

Here’s a good quote, though not as good as the courage wolf, but good nontheless.
“Fear Keeps you sane and keeps you going, hopefully making the right choices along the way. But at the same time, fear, or hesitation makes your worst fears come true. I’ve got to make up my mind, if I’m going to do something, there’s no fear. You gotta do it. If you’re not going to do it, don’t try it. Don’t go for it halfway.”

-Travis Pastrana
sounds like you got it figured out…tis awesome!

getting strong is a simple recipe

lift heavy
rest heavy
eat heavy

and fuck fear.
remember when those abs disapear: they are not gone forever just hiding while you make things happen and when you reached that level of awesome you want you can always bump up the cardio, eat clean and shed the fluff.

There is so much energy in here! I’m saving a little of this inspiration for gym night tonight.

Go for it! Get strong!

grip it an rip it, Spockie.

this goes for life as well as the gym.
