I get the policy of not having trainers doing business in their gym, but mom isn’t getting paid to teach her son gym basics, LA Fitness is having no business taken from them, what a ridiculous story.
Comments sections never fail to deliver though:
"While working out I seen a similar thing happen at the Wilton Manors, FL location and when I stepped in the steroid fueled trainer and I got into it. It resulted it me calling the police and threatening to sue. Not one employee or manager would give me the trainers name and when he seen I was calling corporate he threatened me with violence.
Normally I would have beat him senseless but I just had a boy and money spend on baby items instead of bond was my priority. Corporate was a JOKE. The manager did not lose her job, the guy was transferred and I also had prepaid for a 3 year membership."
I’ve lived in many places, and one of the things I really like about Maine is the relative lack of total morons here. They’re around, but I just don’t hear about much truly shocking stupidity here.
When I visit my mom in FL I get an eye-opener every night on the evening news. Stuff like Stu’s article. Or some methhead pistol-whipped grandma to steal her meds. Or some form of alligator terror.
Our top stories tend to be more mundane, like “Hey, why is there still ice on the lakes?” or “Be careful folks, there’ s a big pothole on Rt. 4 in Jay.”
One thing seems certain, the morons are good at breeding.
Interesting they chose a 13 year old boy. What about all the guys “training” their girlfriends or wives or even friend who doesn’t know what they are doing.
Never been to la fitness now will never go to one. I have been in a lot of big gyms and seen some of the so called trainers and only think liability.
And whats is bad is when we say something then its roid rage. No just stupidity and I for one am tired of it.
And whats even worse, damn mom looks good. I would not kick her from my gym for damn near nothing.
That’s just pathetic. Mom trying to help her son better himself and they do that to her. Pretty sad excuse for a gym if that’s how they conduct business. Then they refuse to comment because they know there in the wrong. Smh.
Am I the only one that watched the video after reading the article just to look at the mom?

Maybe.
This reeks of a fat female trainer at LA fitness with jealousy issues.

Or trainer that realized holy crap, someone is actually training another human being to progress instead of wallowing in mediocrity. Not good for the bottom line if others start realizing that this is what it looks like to get trained.
This is ridiculus !!! She is hot too !!!

I didn’t even read the article. Just jumped around through the video. I didn’t see a ring on her finger either- she’s all yours!

I got a ring on mine and a little one on the way. She might be all somebodies, but it won’t be mine. (He says, like he would have had a shot anyway)
Actually just had the looking at chicks in the gym when you are married discussion the other day. We figured most healthy males will have a wondering eye to a point just don’t go overboard into creepy land and you are all good.

Have discussed this with my girlfriend several times; we both practice hot yoga and thus are often in a room with other sweaty, half-naked coeds about our age.
Both of us acknowledge that there’s nothing wrong with commenting to one another that a fellow yogi (or gym-goer) is attractive. Ideally, one should have the security and self-esteem to hear their partner acknowledge someone else’s attractive appearance without questioning whether their own appearance is “good enough” for their partner.
The boundaries of what’s acceptable (a little harmless glancing and commenting that someone is attractive) and what’s not acceptable (anything beyond that) are pretty obvious.

Yeah, I know my wife finds other guys attractive, same as me with girls. It is really no big deal. Hell even I can admit when a dude is man pretty. I think we all can to a point whether we want to admit it or not. Most guys have been in situation where they were hitting on a chick and realize they are in competition with someone else and think one of two things “I got this guy easy, he should hang it up now” or “Damn it, I hope he doesn’t have any game or I am screwed”
Do your gyms allow kids in the free weight areas?
I train at a university gym, and they will allow you to bring minor children on the weekends to use the indoor track, pool, basketball courts, badminton, ping pong tables, etc…
They won’t let kids under 18 use weight machines or be around the free weight areas. If your kid is 17 or so, (old enough to blend in with the college students) then no one will say anything, but it’s technically against the rules. They would never let that 13-year-old kid in the weight room.

13 is the age limit at my gym, but I think my gym may be operated by a biker gang.
Now that I think about it, I’ve seen two bad situations develop with unsupervised adolescents.
One involved some kids loading up the leg press with 600 pounds or so before the owner’s son came over and said it was a bad idea (but interestingly did not demand that they stop or leave).
Another involved the bench press and misguided demonstrations of manhood. Actually, that one happens more often with grown men.
Conclusion: Grown men should not be allowed to bench press at the gym.

My girl and I will point out hot chicks to each other. Or at the very least she knows when I notice a hot chick. I’m a guy- I check out just about any women in my vicinity.

My gym is 12 if supervised by an adult. 15 if unsupervised, which has created some interesting situations.
One of my college roommates got the tip of her finger crushed in a weight stack working out with her BF. Lost the end up to the first knuckle. On a positive note, it takes her a little less time to do a manicure. Not good to move the pin while weights are in motion.
Hey, is this the thread where I can post up a picture of my SICK 1998 Dodge Caravan?
