Most Pain You've Endured?

Most painful…

Oh, I just bought a foam roller.

On the issue of legit pain (not me thankfully), one summer my dad was mowing the lawn when the mower skipped and landed on his right foot. Severed his middle toe and the littler one to the right of it, I was 16 and he hobbled inside and called for me. I came down figuring he wanted lemonade or something, but in reality he just wanted me to look at it.

Took half an hour to convince him he needed a doctor, and even then he wouldn’t let us take him to the ER until he showered. (he had a point, we were in the ER for eight hours. I can’t imagine sitting there reeking to hell)

Got kicked by a horse when I was a kid.

Got hit by a car a couple years later.

Wrapped a Camaro around a tree.

Been married.

But I’m going to have to say the worst was when I got my Prince Albert. First they bored out my urethra with an eight gauge sight tube. Then the tube was angled down to find the piercing site, and a ten gauge needle was shoved through my dick into the tube. The tube was pulled out, the ring placed in, and the bead set. I bled every time I got a hard on for months.

Shoulder dislocation while boxing, the first time, was incredibly painful. Second two times, not as bad, but still awful.

Broken elbow, incredibly painful.

Shattered knuckle- way more painful than you think it is.

I’ve always sort of suspected it, but this thread has just reconfirmed it: I’m either extremely lucky or a major pussy. Maybe both. Worst I’ve ever had was an avulsion fracture of my pelvis playing football. For those who don’t know, an avulsion fracture is where a ligament or tendon gets separated from the bone and pulls a portion of bone off with it. It hurt for about three weeks (tendon was getting loose) and then one day in practice it suddenly felt like someone stabbed a knife into my hip. I finished practice on it, feeling like I had a knife buried in my hip. I was lucky though, I didn’t totally separate the tendon so I didn’t need surgery.

Nothing nearly as bad as some of the stories on here.

A couple months ago I tweaked my back doing squats. It took my breath away and that was the last squat I did that day, but I did end up finishing the leg presses and calf raises after that. Probably not the greatest idea. I couldn’t lie down properly the rest of the day, nor sit down properly. It healed pretty fast though.

A month ago I was coming down the walk-board off the back of the truck at work and I had a 200 lb, 7 foot long kitchen cabinet on a two-wheel cart. Near the bottom of the walk-board the cabinet rolled off the cart and over the side of the walk-board from 4 feet up. I think I stuck my foot out to break its fall, because I didn’t want the cabinet to break, but somehow my foot ended up under cabinet. I didn’t even feel it at first, because I was worried about the cabinet and so I picked it and got it into the customer’s house and it was fine. I had started to feel it by then, but didn’t want anyone to notice, so I tried to hide my limping. I really wanted that to be the last job of the day, but unfortunately we had another delivery to make and I had to help the other guy, so I continued to hide the fact that my foot was killing me. It took about 3 hours to drive home and when I got out of the truck and started heading towards my car, I couldn’t even walk on the foot. I iced it that night and hoped it would feel fine in the morning, because I had to work. I ended up going to the hospital instead of the work the next day and found out I broke my foot. I was back to work the next week. That was probably the most painful thing I ENDURED.

Forgot a couple.

I recently got in a wreck where I got tboned by a dude doing right around 30 mph. My window was open and my head whipped out and got smashed into his grille. I slipped my shoulder out of socket (not too big a deal, happens all the time) and I had a pretty good concussion and don’t remember most of the day. I do remember that he did not have insurance and I’m still trying to work through that.

I also broke my toe indian leg wrestling a buddy one time. I didn’t go to the doctor for it because I set it myself so my football coaches didn’t let me off at all. Most of our offseason training involved speed and agility drills so there was alot of weight getting shifted onto that toe every day. It still doesn’t sit straight, pretty daggum off center

As a teen, the worst was walking barefoot across a half-mile asphalt parking lot carrying my little brother. At 3 in the afternoon. July 4. As I recall, news said it was the hottest, sunniest day that part of the state had seen in 20 years.

Later on, during “rasslin,” fell straight down on concrete, tail-bone first, doing a “move.” I was only 12 or 13, but I remember thinking “I’m paralyzed.” That hurt. Still have major issues with sitting or kneeling for more than 10 minutes. Makes driving shitty.

Then I broke my back in a few places doing judo with someone much better than me, and angry I slept with his sister (she broke up with me, Dale. Asshole.) Will never be 100%, need chiro on-call at least weekly, and have to keep my bodyweight between 180-190, and can’t bench, back or front squat, and can only deadlift every few months. Still, every once in a great while, I get a cramp in my middle back that keeps me from breathing well, and forces me to vomit in the most roundabout series of go-fuck-yourself cramps which start at the base of my abdomen. Oh, and sometimes I have diarrhea because I sat down for too long. But the cramps, those fuckers still get me. Move wrong, BAM, left arm explodes at the elbow, and my hand turns off, all while feeling like it’s on fire.

Oh, and I got set on fire one time. Turns out, in the above-average machine shop, there’s some chemicals you can mix which coat the skin and, when wrapped with this saran-wrap stuff, can have an external flame applied, and move like it’s boiling, and redden and irritate the skin, without actually causing damage. That hurt.

I was in second grade… in a gym class. We had to hop across the floor on one foot for calisthenics. I accidnetally slipped forward and smash my two front teeth on the cement floor below. Streaks of blood and tooth everywhere, so uncool.

I’ve also had two root canals, and two other teeth knocked out by baseballs. Damn dental issues.

I watched Celtics video blog. . . twice.

And we got a winner. That’s the worst thing that can happen to a dudes’ innards, and it’s completely spontaneous and random.

I disagree. I had this too and it was hell on earth. But it still wasn’t my worst and I doubt it would be as bad as some of the insane things that have happened on here.

Feel your pain though MSD and hope neither of us have that happen again!

The worst by far was when I had Viral Meningitis when I was 22 (two months outta the joint). Imagine the lining of your brain just swelling and causing all of your nerves to feel like they were on fire. I was given spinal taps to relieve the cerebral/spinal fluid pressure. I was drifting in and out of a coma for about two months. The pain was indescribable. A constant headache far worse than a migraine that just wont go away. I suffer partial memory loss (prior to ‘96) from the pressure killing some of my brain cells and I got WAY better in math. Fuckin’ weird, huh?

I had a 25 lb pipe wrench fall from an air handler unit and the guy who dropped it said, “hey!”. So I looked up and it hit me in the face. Totally crushed my nose and fractured my cheekbone. I had bone sticking out of my face. I have plastic an cadaver tissue in my face now. That hurt.

I got stabbed five times while in prison. The worst was when there was knife coming toward my neck, and the only thing I could do was reach up and stop it with my hand. I could feel all the tendon’s popping… Like almost slow motion. While it didn’t hurt right away it was a bit disconcerting (three surgeries on my right hand). Another time I was in a fight, and won, and the guy was on the ground, and shanked me in the fucking SHIN! WTF??? That hurt. The other times were just “flesh wounds” that hurt, but not as bad as you think.

Was working on an ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) and some asshole decided to start the generator - blew out both elbows with over 100 Amps at 480 volts… That really fucking hurt. For about three years after that, I had a vein that was as hard as a thick rope under my skin. Had various electrical burns from shit blowing up while I was working on it. Though I would be blind once, but my eyes ended up healing with just a few scars that I barely notice now.

Playing rugby I was in a long-body ruck and two props fell on me and I ended up ripping my rotator cuff off the bone, tearing my pec and anterior delt. Two screws and a half inch of bone off the clavicle later…

Three knee surgeries - meh, not that bad.

Got jumped by a gang of dudes when I was 14 and they stomped me so bad, my mother didn’t recognize me in the hospital. Broke my neck, nose, ribs, etc… fucked me up bad.

There’s more, but I gotta go get some food.[/quote]

Sincere question. Did you sell your soul to Lucifer?

From what I’ve read you’ve had more pain, served more time, fucked more chicks, and made money than most people on here or whom I’ve ever met in my life.

recovering from hernia surgery was the worst for me, wasnt nearly as bad as some of you guys but being in constant pain for almost a month really takes a toll on you mentally

Broke my left foot, the three middle metatarsals. One of the bones actually popped through the top of my foot on impact (I jumped off a mini waterfall onto a rock), and then went back in I guess (since there was just a hole there when they took my shoe off). Blood just gushed through my shoe, people went nuts. I kind of just sat down staring at my foot, I just felt really nauseous. The worst thing was the pressure, it felt like my foot was about to implode or something. Oh yeah this happened in the Dominican Republic, and then I got laid 2 days later after surgery in a cast. That’s probably the best story I’ve had ever (did I mention when I broke my foot, I had to hop on this huge Dominican’s back and he basically crawled down waterfalls, and then I had to jump from waterfall to waterfall in the water with my BROKEN foot to get down. oh yeah and then after I was done I took a donkey to the taxi… no ambulance haha).

How are you still alive? Are you Bruce Willis from Unbreakable? My goodness - you’ve had some painful experiences. Too many for one man I say.

QFT!! I shattered the middle knuckle on my right hand, and folded the my ring and pinky finger into my palm punching someone in the head. mah hand was crippled, i thought they were just gonna cut it off. 6 weeks in a cast and it was good as new

i somehow got some metal in my eye, and the nurse had to use a pin to scrape it out.

Jesus dude. You’d think from this list you would look like Quasimodo or something. Haha. And there I was talking about my broken finger. hahaha

I can’t compare to most of this shit on here.

  1. Broken ring finger, spiral fracture, playing flag football. Grabbed the flag but my finger went sideways on the dudes hip. That wasn’t that painful, kind of numb, dull pain. What hurt like hell was when the doc formed the splint to put on it. He crushed it around my finger to get it in the proper position. The nurse asked what was wrong with me because I immediately went pale, started sweating profusely, and started tearing up. I couldn’t believe the pain. 3 surgeries later, still not perfect as I can’t straighten completely and it’s swollen for good.

  2. Inflamed nerve/vein in my testicles. This felt like I was getting kneed in the groin every time I moved. I suffered the stomach pain and vomit temptations for 3 days while I waited for this to go away. If my boxers even grazed my nuts I thought I was going to hurl. Jerking off actually helped the situation. Ended up getting an ultrasound of my nuts and hanging out in the hospital for a few days. All I needed was a heavy dose of Ibuprofen.

  3. Completely bit through my tongue when I was younger. Playing on a swing set, fell off (possibly standing on seat), head landed right on teh seat directly under my chin. Blood EVERYWHERE. I was actually able to turn my tongue inside out for a little while. I got to eat ice cream like it was my job tho. Healed up pretty well but I can still show you the spot on my tongue.

I broke a rib while doing leg press, Broke a finger from a line drive, and pinched a nerve in my lower back while squatting.

None of them were as painful or as annoying as marriage.

I broke a couple of metatarsals doing stupid guy shit.
The surgeons waited almost 2 months to do surgery because of different opinions. I had 3, 4 inch pins inserted into my wrist, which stayed there for a couple of months. During the months after the cast was removed, I still had the pins in, but had a bit of range of motion, so I played some tackle football, lifted a little. . shit I hadn’t been able to do in a few months.
During this idiocy, the pins had migrated from their original position and stuck farther into the bones.

What the don’t tell you is that when they take these pins out, there is no local freezing. You sit on a chair, put your hand on a table, they grab some pliers and rip the bitches out.

After she twisted the first one and yanked on it a few times, she realized it wouldn’t come out. She apologized in advance, and told me it was going to hurt. I thought I had a pretty high pain threshold, so I said do it up.

After the first one came out, I felt myself getting very sick. After the second, I was sweating profusely, and I don’t remember the third because I passed out. I woke up on a hospital bed and remember hot nurses coming in and laughing at me.

Man, they were hot.

  1. Dislocated one of the uppermost vertebrae (C1 or C2 I believe) in my neck when I got my head caught at a funny angle in a scrum. That in itself didn’t hurt, but it pinched a nerve or something and gave me the most excruciating headache I’ve ever had in my life. Every time I’d get my blood pressure up a bit (like standing up fast or hopping up a couple of stairs) it would just get brutal.

Dropped me to the floor a number of times, actually passed out cold from the pain once or twice. I finally got into the doctor after about a week and he said it was probably a muscle spasm, gave me a muscle relaxer and pain killers and said he wanted to do a head CT just in case.

I went to my chiro after that who adjusted it and it sounded like a damn gunshot when it popped back into place, but the headache was gone instantly. He told me later that the CT scan showed the vertebrae had rotated almost 90 degrees out of place and I was lucky it didn’t do any more serious damage or paralyze me.

  1. Popped a rib head in my back (also in a scrum, but at practice this time). Apparently the end of the rib, where it connects to the spine, popped off and slid forward, into me, pressing on my lung. I could hardly breath, couldn’t stand up all the way or twist my torso. The worst part was that it was a late practice and I couldn’t get to my chiro until the next day. Had to drive the half hour home before I could get to pain killers and whiskey. Luckily that one was pretty short lived, once the chiro popped it back in it felt a lot better but that first night was agony.
