More I learn Less I know

It’s hard to measure progress without tracking workouts. I tend to get caught up in thinking things aren’t progressing fast enough and/or I just plain suck at this. Tonight I graphed my total progress since January.

Combined Deadlift, Squat and Bench calculated by Wendlers 1RM formula.

Took each week since January and threw out the deload weeks.

It’s encouraging anyway…that is…it doesn’t suck as bad as I thought.

Thats some fine progress youve got going there.

This is the same crazy ass thing I might do. Shows serious addiction.

Are you sure that’s not just a chart of the Dow for the last year:

LOL!

Holy Crap, I didn’t realize my workouts were driving the financial engine of the country, and perhaps the world.

Index Funds, Bonds, Mortgages, Options…
It all makes sense now. I’ll try not to let y’all down.

If your numbers are driving the market. could you please become a gear whore? It will make Pete happy and help my 401K

my college fund could use a little help…check that…a lot of help…gear up and get rocking the free world is counting on you. great progress OP

Deadlift Day

Deadlifts:

135 x 10
205 x 8
225 x 5

255 x 5
290 x 3
325 x 6 (PR)

Rack Pulls:
395 x 3
395 x 2

Pendlay Rows
135 x 10
155 x 0

My daughter ran in the gym and said the home alarm was on and the power was out.
Had to cut it short.
Happy w/the PR though. Ever so close to where I need to be for Nov. Will probably test 405 next month.

'Gratz on the PR - closing in on that 405. I still haven’t pulled over 400 but then I didn’t get to try it at my last meet

Was everything good at the house? Still have your TV and all?

I graph my my 4 lifts individually using the Wendler formula. I use the highest est max from each cycle. I had not thought of doing the total… I have some work to do on my spreadsheet now!

Outstanding PR big guy.

Thanks SD - I watched your pull live and I know you have 400+ ready to go.

I’m starting to feel ready.

LOL - Yes, unfortunately I can’t make an insurance claim on my old stuff.
I think it was a heat related power outage.

Yeah - It dawned on me when I was trying to calculate my lifts for the upcoming meet, I didn’t know where I stood today, but had all the data. Why not?
Nice to see another PL Nerd tracking stuff on spreadsheets. There must be something wrong about that but I’m not sure what.

Thanks Joe - You are definitely an inspiration when it comes to Deadlies.

BW 192ish

Bench Day

Bench Press:
Warmup to 225

240 x 5
270 x 3
300 x 3

315 x 1
325 x 1
245 x 8
245 x 5

Dips:

BW x 25
+45 x 10
+90 x 8
+90 x 8

Incline Press - Smith Machine- (bar only weighs 15lbs so I have to remember to calc right)
105 x 10
165 x 8
195 x 8

Pull Ups:
5, 10, 6, 6, 5

Swam 30 min.

Today I worked on bench setup. I wanted to get into a position with max arch, feet flat and able to get good leg drive without raising my butt off the bench. I found the position and 325 flew up without any extra body movement.

I think I’m on to somethin.

Got a call from a company who I submitted my resume to online. I was at the pool drying off when the HR Mngr called my cell. Didn’t think online resumes worked anymore.

Tomorrow I take my youngest up to college and say goodbye for the semester.

Official empty nester and dirt poor for the next 4 years.

hope the job opportunity pans out! and I feel for ya on the dirt poor feeling

How do you know this? I actually looked up the manufacturer of the smith at my gym to see what the bar is counterbalanced to: 23 lb. The last gym I was at it was more like 50 lb. Amazing the variation of the weight of these bars.
