Incline Press - Smith Machine- (bar only weighs 15lbs so I have to remember to calc right)

How do you know this? I actually looked up the manufacturer of the smith at my gym to see what the bar is counterbalanced to: 23 lb. The last gym I was at it was more like 50 lb. Amazing the variation of the weight of these bars.[/quote]

Hey KP -

Yeah, I had to look for the label on the machine. It felt way to light to be a standard weight.
Most people think its a 45lb bar on those things, but invariably they are counterbalanced much lighter.

Great benching Mr.Powers. Sounds like you got this dialed in now.

I know its 60 lbs more but you have a shot at one day benching twice your weight. Just great pressing OP.

And my youngest just started school for the 1st time. My wife is going stir crazy. It’s the 1st time she’s had the house to herself in a long time.

Damn fine benching…and dips. Steve is right. Benching twice your body weight is very doable.

Thanks Fischer - You put me on the right track.

BTW - It makes me feel all randy when you call me Mr. Powers.
But you can call me Mike.

I honestly haven’t even thought of that. 60lbs doesn’t sound like much, but for Bench and Millies, it’s a bunch. I hope someday to get there.

Looking back to a few years ago, 300 seemed way out of reach so maybe there’s hope.

Now its party time for your wife! She’ll love it.

Just got back from a 1200 mile journey to check my daughter into her dorm and pay my first bill. I’m beat.

Now that there aren’t any kids around, I get to run nekid all over the house.

Tripp: Hey, Pop?
Al: Hey! Tripp. What are you doing here?
Tripp: Just came by to get some stuff. What are you doing?
Al: Feeding my fish.
Tripp: Yeah. I see that. You’re naked. In my room.
Al: Well, this is my Naked Room. I mean, it’s my house. A man ought to be able to do whatever he wants to do in his own house. Wore a suit for forty years.
Tripp: So now we got forty years of…
Al: No suit.
Tripp: No suit. Alright. I’m gonna let you get back to feeding your fish.

Well if you keep up the lifting, you’ll have a better body than Bradshaw. Maybe the wife won’t mind at all.

I’ve never seen it. Now I want to!

I’ve already explained to my daughter what a scholarship is. And informed her that she is going to need one…or a job…or both.
Of course, in 9 years, it’ll all be free…right?

Great work! Strong squats and the 185x5 MP is great! Looking good…

But if I did that, my wife would never use the towel again. Waste of a perfectly good towel.

Thanks LS.

I continue seeing PR’s with Deads and Millies. Not so with Bench and Squats. Ever so close though. Missing them by a single rep. I need to man up.

Deload begins…or maybe not…

If you are depressed about your bench now like I am, go check out the link in Snapper’s thread in PW. It will make you feel even worse. There’s a 132 pounder with long arms throwing up just shy of 300 lbs. raw. I almost started to cry.

And she’s really hot to boot.

Yes - I’m in lust.
Over her Wilks score that is.

When I see women like her lift, I’m really, really impressed [obviously]. But it also makes me want to bang my head against the wall.
