Aw, c’mon, Doc. A bit insecure? Don’t you think they stare out of admiration?.. Something to aspire to?
I’m not going to lie…I don’t lift weights to be ignored and very often that is simply more drive to lift even harder…but some people are a little overboard with it. Some even have “nasty looks” that come along with it (mostly older people).
If I get it from the younger guys who are also working hard, I know why they do it. If I get it from some extremely fat older woman while she wrinkles her nose, I tend to consider that a different sentiment.

For few months, I was going to they gym at different times than usual, and had the same problem. Everyone in the morning is used to me and never really stares (well, except for a couple of guys) or comments on my workouts.
When I first started going in the afternoons and evenings, I sort of got that fresh meat feeling, but it stopped after a while. I think it’s partly because when you see new people at the gym, they tend to be really out of shape, or really average.
Point is, they just need to get used to you. I also get stared at by new people who join the gym.
Anyway, who gives a shit what fat, older women think of ya?
And, don’t lie, you do like to be stared at.
