Good luck with the snatch, and the jerking.
At the meet I mean, of course.

good luck at the meet and keep your fans posted ![]()
either i’m losing my mind or you have renamed your log. of course they don’t have to be mutually exclusive. good luck with your meet.
Perhaps I should take up oly lifting just for the joy of noisily dropping barbells on the ground. Such a satisfying noise it makes.
Good luck at the meet tomorrow!
What meet are you doing?
I was planning on doing the weightlifting meet at www.virtualmeet.net. I dunno know, now, though. I pulled something in my left shoulder doing the push presses last night that makes it pretty painful to put my arm over my head. I put a hot pad on it all last night and it’s better than it was, but I don’t know if it’ll be ready for tomorrow. I’ll do what I said I would do and compete, but it may be a meet of token lifts for me.
Damn. That sucks about the shoulder. Hope its not too bad and heals quickly.
sucks about the shoulder- heal up.
Ah - the beauty of virtual meets. I’m moving my meet day to Sunday. Shoulder’s a lot better and should be okay by then.
Thanks for all the good wishes.

Back when I did Oly-style lifting, I really suffered when I changed gyms and went from metal plates to rubber-coated ones. I really liked the sound the plates made on a C&J. Thought I was crazy at the time to miss such an attribute, but I’ve heard multiple people on here say the same thing.
Good luck Sunday, DCA! Can’t wait for the vid.
you can get the best of both worlds by mixing and matching rubber bumper plates (10, 15, 20kg) with smaller metal plates (1, 2.5, 5kg). the bumpers mean you can drop it (very satisfying) and the little metal plates mean it clunks / rattles (very satisfying) when you stand up the clean etc.
Good luck with the VM!
Shoulder was 100% today so I went for it. Chose the same attempts as the last meet (November), but put the jerks up this time. We’ll see if the my third attempts pass; I won’t be surprised if they don’t. My second attempts were good, in my opinion, which will still add 20 lbs to my total.
Snatch
1: 145
2: 155
3: 165
C&J
1: 185
2: 205
3: 215
Didn’t drop anything, but with better form more weight is definitely possible.
Now to see what the judges say.

DAMN! nice work!
do they have a rule about reposting the vids before they judge?
That’s awesome progess, DCA.
I can’t wait for your form to get better, I’m tired of watching the Ferrari idling around the parking lot!
Nice lifting!
nice work-
good job on the meet and big progress.
ps your looking good too.
20lbs to your total is nice work and you made those clean and jerks look really easy.
I’ll be checking in to see what the judges say.
