Really? I guess it seems normal to me since I used to play at Oly lifting. Of course, I didn’t use much weight for my front squats.

Yup, hook grip, that’s why I got so excited at the end. That’s just 40 lbs off my all-time best with mixed grip and I’m a lot lighter now than when I hit that. I taped the base of my thumbs to protect them from bar skid, but I don’t think that’s cheating…

Thanks all - I’ve done that weight before, but I was excited to do it hooked and with a clean-width grip. My middle fingers have gotten stronger so a lot of pressure is being taken off the thumb, making more weight possible. The 470 was less painful than the 435 I did a while back.

Snatches were awful, but I don’t know how I’m going to handle more weight in them except by handling more weight. Squats felt good, no pains in the knees nor any over-tight body parts . The extra day off helped.
