And I wish those fellas would quit calling.

Sorry…

So, I’m curious. What is the barrier to getting enough to eat EVERY day?

i can give you lessons on the eating thing if you like:

  1. if its free, eat it
  2. if its unattended, eat it
  3. if you are hungry, eat for a whole hour
  4. if you are not hungry, eat for 35 minutes

your welcome

Anger and bitterness. Kills my appetite.

Words to grow on. Many Thanks

Bummer.

Well, it seems to me that your holding on to those two things are a higher priority than your training.

Clean and Jerk
w/u
and
185 1x10

Clean-grip DL
315x3
365x3
415 1x6

Stopped these because I was back-lifting, not using my hamstrings so much and so I changed to:

Snatch Grip RDL
235x3
245 5x3 sets

OHP
165x1
170 1x10

BB Curls
115 5x2 sets

Cleans are looking better despite my anger and bitterness. Deadlifts felt better than last time, but I may be going too heavy on them for my purposes.

I stand corrected.

Nice work.

No - I do. You are right.

Anger and bitterness can be wonderful training fuel.

just try to burn them up while training…

Looking smoother on the catch to my inexperienced eye, are the elbows supposed to be locked out catching the jerk?

Yeah - my jerk is a bit off due to not splitting deep enough. I’m hitting it soft in the shoulders too.

Those just keep looking better and better. good elbows and good timing on the catch. bottom position is looking more solid too.

I don’t know if you are doing this on purpose, since you could be easily power cleaning those, and you might be purposely cutting the pull to force a deeper catch, but I notice you are not getting a good finish on your pull.

Do you ever do push jerks? Your split on the jerks is plenty wide enough, but you don’t seem to push under very hard. Push jerks might help with that.

Keep it up. I want to be right in my prediction that you will eventually tear things up in Masters Weightlifting. That’s easy to wish for since you will always be an age group or two behind me. Don’t have to worry about the competition.

I am cutting the pull to force a deeper catch. I can pull a lot more I think, but I can’t catch anything really heavy at the bottom yet. I’m working my front squats and high bar squats hard to strengthen the bottom. I’m sure as the weight gets heavier I’ll be finishing the pull more and more.

My jerk went soft again and I’m still trying to bounce the bar high rather than simply pushing under it and locking it in place. I’m wondering if I need to work jerks out of the rack. I do wish I had access to jerk boxes. I’m also babying my right shoulder a bit.

Barxsome
75x3
95x3
105x3
115x3
125x3
135x2,2,2
145x1,0,1
155x1,1
165x0,0,1(lifted it with my head),1 (success)
167.5 (not even close)
135x2,1+3OHS

Tried out a higher hip setup and that seems to work well for me so long as I can make my shoulders move first on the first pull. If my butt goes up first that bar is going out to the front.

Still not pulling myself under the bar but that will change soon, I think.

I felt something give in my right shoulder on the last 135 pull. Could be an injury, but my arm is hanging better and the muscles in the back and top of the shoulder have become disinhibited (or so it seems) so I may have busted loose some scar tissue. We’ll see. If that’s the case I might be able to get the bar back further and so go lower to support it.

Wooly ears? Generally I am quite a big fan of wool.

I thought about commenting on soft jerks, but thought better of it.

So you like Baaa-aaa-aaa-aaad boys?

Don’t - I’m having enough trouble maintaining a semblance of adult composure around the lift names as it is.
