Momentum and Inertia

He does. Seems Scott “Hoss” Cartwright has left the team, however.

Short and sweet. OHP benefits more from more frequency than once every 8 days. 171 is nearly my max for the day whereas not too long ago I was doing 10 singles at this bodyweight but with 15 more pounds on the bar. Oh well. Didn’t work up to a max single on OHP because it’s not being contested.

Got the results (kinda) for the virtual meet.

SQ - 375 (looks like 395 didn’t pass)
BP - 260
DL - 475
Total: 1110

Rankings
Total - 3rd among all lifters past and present
SQ - 4th (up from 6th)
BP - 11th up from 16th
DL - 2nd (unchanged)

I had me figured for 1130 total since I thought my 395 squat was better than my 375. Oh well - at least I’m top 5 in three areas.

Here’s the meet:

Excellent numbers, congrats

I bought 20 lbs of whey protein yesterday. Called in to House of Pain about my non-present singlet today. I may have to buy from elsewhere if I don’t get an answer from them as to why I don’t have it yet.

What is it about powerlifting gear companies being so slow with delivery? I had the same problem when I ordered my singlet and have heard similar stories. Not only did the company I ordered from have to overnight my singlet to make it in time for the meet, but sent a smaller size than I wanted based on my height/weight. Consequently, it’s very, umm, fitted. Good luck to you.

I think it depends on the cycles of what the big teams are doing. I waited forever for my Centurian. However, my singlet from Inzer arrived fairly quickly. My old singlet sounds like your new one and I was sporting a very ‘camel-toe rific’ look.

Given that most 198’s are 2-4 inches shorter than me, I fully expect there will be some moose-knuckle-rific action happening, along with tent-bellows on the waist.

I went with a wrestling singlet from some big on-line sports store and it arrived propmtly.

You may want to look into what is available locally.

Took your advice and ordered a wrestling singlet from Sports Authority. Watch HoP’s arrive tomorrow.

I believe that I ordered from Sports Authority as well last year. Inexpensive and functional, great for something you are only going to wear a few times a year.

Great work, all the way around. When/what fed is the next meet?
November 6 at SuperTraining gym in Sacramento. They’re doing SPF meets there now and fairly frequently. It’s an interesting arrangement, being a multi-meet with raw, single and multi-ply lifting happening. Three weight classes: light, middle, and heavy weights. Needless to say, I think that since I’m lifting raw and haven’t yet reached an adult weight, I’ll be lifting in the first flights…

They’ll be using a monolift for the squats so it’ll be a bit strange not to walk the weight out. I may do so anyway since it’s part of the process of setting my stance.
That sounds like fun. I’ve never used a mono. I agree, I am not sure what cue I would use to start the lift without the one-two shuffle step.
I tried a friend’s mono and it really threw me off. The shuffle, dance is part of my set up. However, I suspect you could change it pretty quickly.

CA, I’m looking forward to seeing you rock the singlet.

I hope you have someone going that can tape the meet.
I’m the only one amongst my circle of family and friends doing this sort of thing, I’m afraid. My wife came to the last one I did and it scared her…so I’m pretty much on my own.

Sho nuff, House of Pain singlet arrived on my doorstep today.

As promised, wearing the ensemble.

330x5
375x3

420x1 (belt on 5th hole)

455x1 (belt @6th hole, chucks)

405 3x3

DCA in all honesty you are the first person I have ever seen that looks so good in a singlet, plus you’re strong as hell. you’ve made this mermaid swoon. :>

you should wear it at the store and see how closely the check girl eyes you. On par with Kimba’s smoking Lulu’s.

If you can stand a bit of objectification…

you look extremely hot in that.

Well worth signing on to see those vids.

And, yeah, I’ll second what the girls said about you in the singlet. Very easy on the eyes.

Double overhand on the first set: showoff.

Lookin’ good.

Just to clarify, I don’t have major cameltoe-age issues with my singlet, but it’s pretty tight on the derriere, which makes me a little self-conscious.

A powerlifting meet scared your wife? What’s she scared of? I just watched one yesterday and left feeling totally fired up.

First off, thank you, ladies, for your kind words to a poor albino. “Hot” and “you” are two words I’ve never heard addressed to me in that context, but since it’s you all, I think I’ll be able to bear being objectified.

kpsnap - you have to understand, my wife had NO exposure to this pursuit. I generally train when she’s not home or I do it at the gym. During the meet I failed on squats and had to be helped out of the hole. All she saw was 365 pounds crushing me. Between that and the boisterous nature of the venue, it was too much for her. Not her fault, really. Nor mine. Honestly, I was surprised she wished to go with me that time.

Keep on doing it and you’ll meet a ton of people there. Most of my social circle is now lifters. That way you’ll eventually end up with a camera man

Strong lifts, DCA. 455 looked very fast and solid.
