Mo Greene Retires

He was my favourite track athlete.

His arrogance always bothered me quite a bit, especially the bickering between him and Michael Johnson.

I have a lot more respect for him now, seeing as he made it through his whole career without his name and steroids ever being mentioned in the same breath. I wish you could say that for more of today’s 100m runners.

That’s why he was my favourite. The gym numbers tell the same story - I believe Mo squatted 500lb for a couple of reps, whilst Linford (juiced) was at 700lb for 3 or so and Jonson hit 4 times bodyweight.

Where did you hear that Linford squatted 700 lb for 3? I find that number very difficult to believe unless they were partials.

Also Johnson never squatted 4xbodyweight.

Linford was 220lb (off season) when he did that. Johnson’s squat may have been exaggerated - I did wonder - but it’s still WAY higher than Mo. There are links to some numbers on this thread.

I was tempted to bump that thread. I’m sorry I missed out on it, there are a lot of miconceptions about 40 times.
