If I wouldn’t have read some stuff you wrote, I would have never asked my mom about allergies etc, and I wouldn’t have known I had a gluten intolerance!!

So I had a ridiculously good workout today! Well, hell… the first exercise was awesome and that was enough to put me on cloud 9 for a while… so I’ll take it! Decided to use the 5/3/1 template for my first exercise of every workout… will figure out what to do with accessory work as I go along… was going to do Deadlifts, Rack Pulls, and Back extensions… but after deadlifts my lower back was so fried I couldn’t even begin to keep an arch for rack pulls…
Conventional Deadlift (know that 341 is my max, I am calling it 300, and subtracting 10% to get 270 as my new max. You are always better off underestimating yourself with 5/3/1) =D
65% (175) for 5 reps
75% (200) for 5 reps
85% (230) for… wait for it… wait for it… 11 reps! YAY!!! This is a rep PR for me! WHOO HOO! And I swear I could have gotten more if I didn’t have any respect for my spinal erectors. They would have ripped off since my form started getting shitty… but I swear I could have gotten 12-15 with this! I am PUMPED!
Tried to rack pull… wasn’t happening!

Nice deadlifting - you must be really happy with that. Envious of the massage. I need to treat myself to one of those. The only massages I’ve had recently are when my physio grinds his thumbs into my calf, which makes me want to cry and puke simultaneously. (I wish he’d cut his nails shorter, too).

Cal - yeah I had some calf work done last night… OWIE! I know there are several trigger points up and down that area and DAMN you can feel them! I told my therapist last night, “Umm… this makes me wanna kick you in the face… but I probably won’t, so don’t worry.” or something of the sort… Yeah, mine has short nails so that’s good! =D
And hell yeah I was pumped about the DLs! Seriously floating on air! I wish I had a vid to check my form. Next week, maybe?

T- thanks for the info. I’ve been eating the sprouted rye; yesterday had a PB sandwich mid-afternoon, no problems. It’s a great addition. I also have it sometimes in the morning.

AND… my REAL max bench is 150… but since you are supposed to use 10% less than your real max with 5/3/1… and since I have felt particularly weak lately… I erred on the low side.
And a 6’ wing span is the reason I pull 341 and bench 150… Damn biomechanics!

Eh well I have the opposite problem - short arms, so deadlift sucks compared to my bench. (Don’t get me started on my squat). We all have our advantages and disadvantages.
Oh and really want a pair of Vibrams but UK prices are horrific. Also not sure if they’d fit my funny feet, but will try some once I have some more cash.
