Kimba - I know this! =D

Skye - I think sprouted grains (like Ezekiel Bread) are much better for you that other types of bread, particularly the “enriched” kinds… however I have never included them as a regular part of my diet so I can’t give any personal experiences with them.

I CAN tell you that I am NOT a huge fan of grains in general though. Are you thinking about adding this to your diet? I know plenty of people who eat this food regularly and love it and experience no issues with it…

Belini - thanks! I think it’s just you… I can see all my videos and people have been commenting on them… so I am pretty sure they are showing up! =D Thanks for popping by!

Had a decent workout today… nothing too spectacular, although I was pleased with my bench compared to last week. Here it was:

Barbell Bench Press
7 reps @ 105 lbs
8 reps @ 105 lbs (WHOO HOO! Had to PUSH for this set!)
5 reps @ 115

***I TRIED to do the bridge floor press again because I only did on set Monday and I really enjoyed it… didn’t work… tri’s were fried from bench and my coach wasn’t there… so I couldn’t get it set up properly (no one to hand me the bar and take it when I was done, etc). So I did a few reps with 115…but overall it was not successful. Then I started to run out of time =(

So I did a tri-set of:

Inverted Rows (3 sets of 10 @ BW)
Over/Under mobility drills (3 sets of 6 each direction)
YTWLI raises (10 reps each)

DONE!

Tomorrow is TURKEY DAY and I plan to eat ridiculous amounts of food! YAY~ =D

I have tried it before, I was at Trader Joe’s and picked up a loaf of sprouted rye bread. I am thinking of adding it my diet on occasion.

Skye - If you don’t have an allergy to it, I would try it out and see how it makes you feel! Then report back b/c I am curious! =D

OK so today I didn’t have time to get to the gym… so I thought I would do a quick pre-hab circuit at my house since I have been neglecting my pre-hab lately. Looked like this:

20 BW Squats
10 scap pushups
10 birddogs to each side (SQUEEZING MY GLUTES)
5 Force Absorption Drops on each foot from 1 stair up
10 quick vertical jumps focusing on soft landing and absorbing force
10 Clams on each side
20 BW Squats
Rest 1 min, repeat 1x

then I did:

20 BW Squats
15 reps DC “Broomstick exercise” with a Band
15 X-band steps in each direction
30 lying leg curls to clear debris from under the kneecap
15 Dorsiflexion exercises on each side with a band around my toes and hooked to the leg of our guest bed
20 BW Squats
Rest 1 min, repeat 1x

So this wasn’t exactly killer… but I was definitely sweating a bit at the end. I think I will do some variation of this on Fridays when I have a LITTLE extra time, but not enough for a full gym session. Took about 25 minutes total. In the future, I will take an extra 10 at the end to stretch.

what’s pre-hab? - won’t learn if i don’t ask…

when everyone else in your family and all your friends have drinking and drug problems. they send u to a facility so YOU dont develop an addiction, as well.

Honestly, not the worst idea…

That, or doing a lot of correctional/mobilisation-type stuff on your weak/stiff/problem parts before they cause serious problems. Eg, if you work at a desk and have a bit of keyboard kyphosis going on, doing shoulder and thorassic spine mobility work is a pretty good idea, because it’s a lot better than getting surgery on your rotator cuffs somewhere down the line.

*excellent

Short for pre-habilitation… since I am not actively “re-habbing” an injury… but trying to PREVENT them!

Umm… yeah, what everyone else said! =D

I get it now - thanks every one. For a second I was like “how is it that doing birddogs keeps you away from the booze?” I suppose by keeping your hand busy fo half an hour- lol.

Thats hilarious!

I’ll definately let you know. I’m going to get rid of the AM oats and sub it with the sprouted rye and see what happens. I think the true test would be to see if I crash mid-afternoon if I eat it then. I’ll try that, too and see what happens.

-lol I’m sure you would be sipping on plenty of vital nutrients coming off the gym floor: yummy slurpy.

hey Skye, i’ve been eating sprouted grain bread for years. one slice with my eggies almost every morning. we have a great brand called Alvarado Baking co…the CA protein style bread has 9 g of pro and 13 net carbs, i believe. (actually haven’t eaten in the last month) it’s local so it’s fresh and all the varieties are YUM (multi-grain, rye, etc)

coming from a very low carb background, this was the one thing i pretty much wouldn’t give up and it kept me sane since i would eat it first thing am. i’ve seen ezekial here, but it’s usually always frozen…:frowning:

hi Molly…as always, you rock. a total inspiration!

Skye - yeah! Definitely keep me updated! =D

Tal - Thanks! =D and wow that bread sounds good!

So yesterday I only had 25 minutes to do accessory work for my upper and lower body… so I made Jim (my coach, CBear’s ex) put me through a quick workout… here is how it went:

2 pushups, followed immediately by 1 neutral grip pullup (This is 1 round and it’s a Jim FAVORITE! =D)
8 rounds of this without stopping
then rest 1-2 minutes

6 rounds w/o stopping
Rest 1 minute

Hammer Strength Low Row
70 lbs each side of machine
8 reps/7 reps/6 reps
Rest 30 seconds between sets

Jump Squats with a 45 lb Oly Bar on my back (not quite to parallel, as fast/explosive as possible)
3 sets of 10 reps
45-60 seconds between sets

DONE! =D

Lats and calves are sore today! =D
