Cute little chunky-monkey too.

Maybe more like Grace Kelly.
awesome pics! what an amazing experience, you lucky girl.
wow-you really do have a beautiful face…on top of that body…arrrgghh…under my breath ![]()
Wonderful pictures! Jealous much? Heh. Glad you are having a super time. And you are one fine looking lady. You’ve got the brains, the brawn and the beauty, damn you. shakes fist
Awww… guys! I don’t even know what to say! You all are so sweet! I am trying to learn to gracefully accept compliments instead of brushing them off with a self deprecating remark to ease my (sometimes) discomfort in receiving them… so I will just say, “Thank you! You all made my day with your compliments!” =D
Kimba - yes! It was definitely the craziest thing I have ever done! It is so weird when you hit the ‘point of no return’ and you are like, “F*CK! I am either going to sail into the sky or splatter down the side of a mountain… too late to do anything about it!”
Skye - yes Claire deserves the ugly names MUCH more than I do! ;D
CBear - REALLY? I felt ridiculous! (also not sure how a helmet would help much if you crashed from 3000 feet in the air… but whatever makes you feel safer I guess!) And yes I was THRILLED to see Ella! She is so sweet and fat and chubby and smart and cute! I could seriously bite her cheeks off! They are so rosy and fat… they practically hang off of her face! I am going to leave a HUGE piece of my heart in New Zealand when I leave in a few days… =( (with my sister and sister-in-law too of course =*-( )
Mom-in-Md - Awww Thanks Betty! SO SWEET! =D Yeah my sister moved their five years ago when she got married. Her wife is from there… and since their marriage is not recognized in the States, but it is in New Zealand, they had to go live there while her wife finished her PhD in Genetics. She hopefully has less than a year left and then they can move back to the States! YAY! =D
rcfromdb - We are staying in Dunedin for the most part… but we drove to Queenstown and stayed right outside there in a place called Arrowtown for 3 days. Queenstown is kind of the “birthplace” of adventure sports… so I knew I would do something fun… but wasn’t sure what… I picked Paragliding b/c it had a thrill factor but also lasted quite a long time and wasn’t too dangerous. We also rode a “Shotover Jet” which was cool… it was a 30 minuted boat ride in a jet that travels around 50+ mph… and the VERY experienced drivers have you like 6 inches away from giant rocks before they bust out a 360 and spin you away from them… it was very cool as well! (COLD! But awesome!)
(also gorgeous scenery! =D)
Deja - yeah the pilot took those pictures WHILE operating the parachute! Multi-talented for sure! I was pleased with how they turned out! =D
Git-er-done - Wow! I have never gotten Grace Kelly before… but I will TAKE IT! What a fabulous compliment! (I have also not gotten Nicole Kidman… but consider that a nice compliment too!) It’s funny… I am often told that I remind people of someone… whether it’s their sister-in-law, their cousin, their best friend or a celebrity… I guess I just have “one of those faces” as they say… =D All of the celebrities I get are always a big compliment… so I guess it’s a good thing!
Talenaah - You are so sweet! And yes I DO feel super lucky! This has been such a killer vacation! Fun adventures… quality family time… early to bed and lots of sleeping in… great food… lots of high quality chocolate… it has been divine! =D
Cal - What nice things you have to say! I am going to start coming to this page whenever I need a self esteem boost! =D Aren’t the pictures just awesome! I am so glad to have them! =D
Hey everyone! On my way home from New Zealand… sitting in the Auckland airport reminiscing about my trip. I am SO SAD to leave my sister, sister-in-law and sweet little niece. It will probably be a couple of years before I see them again and it’s just devastating. I know to a lot of you all it might not seem like a big deal… but I am VERy close to my family!
I talk to my Mother every ther day, my sister in the US almost every day and see my nephew at least twice a week. I used to have breakfast with my Dad and grandmother every Sunday for 5+ years (my grandmother passed… but we still do breakfast on Sundays) Plus we have “family events” (birthdays, anniversaries, random celebration dinners, holiday events) probably every 2-3 weeks…
I just hate that I don’t get to watch my niece grow up. It’s MUCH harder now that I have met her. =( Anyway… just doing some cathartic rambling…
I WILL be nice to get back home ad get back on a normal training (and eating) schedule. Plus I miss my boyfriend, my other sister and my nephew. Oh, and Cbear. How can you not miss CBear?
P.S. I have taken the last 2 weeks off my diet… haven’t done that in 6 years. Probably about time for it! I know I gained a bit… but f*ck it… I was in New Zealand damnit!
Will share more stories and pics when I get home! =-D
So I had my first day back in the gym today after 2-2.5 weeks off. While I was in NZ I did a little bit of hiking, climbing LOTS of hills (Dunedin, NZ is even more hilly than San Francisco and we walked a TON! =P)
Oh yeah and I forgot to mention… I “sprinted” up “The Steepest Residential Street in the World”… Baldwin street… found here:
http://www.ourshop.co.nz/baldwinstreet.htm
It’s a 35% incline and I believe it’s approx 170 meters. I say “sprinted” in quotations because I went almost as fast as I could the whole way up (as I approached the hill I went about 50%) and when I got to the hill I went about 80% as fast as possible… about halfway up I had to stop running and just take quick steps… then about 75& of the way up I was using the handrail to pull myself up… but I NEVER stopped and if I was going about as fast as I could… it still counts as a sprint, right? OK… maybe it’s a stretch… but either way I made it up the freaking hill! Then I rested for about 3-4 minutes on a bench at the top and began the excruciating descent down. My legs were shaking so badly I didn’t know if I would make it down. Then my sister asked if I wanted a certificate that proves that I went up the hill… and I said, “Hell no! I want to puke and then lay down! Anyone who wants to stop and get a certificate must have not made it all the way up the damn hill!”
So… while I didn’t get to the gym (well I did one day but just helped my sister and her wife with their form and showed them some new exercises…) I still got some exercise in! =D
I think sometimes the GPP is more grueling than some of our best (worst?) max effort days in the gym.
congrats, pretty lady! always admiring you!

Oh I definitely agree on the GPP being more grueling than lifting at times… it’s so funny… I knew it was going to make me want to puke and die…and yet for some reason I was SO pumped to do it! Weird, huh? =D
So today’s workout was as follows (I also had minimal time and no planned program to follow… so I winged it or wung it or wanged it or whatever… I made it up as I went along!)
Conventional BB Deadlifts
10 sets of 1 rep @ 225 (20 seconds rest in between)
Back Extensions with Oly Bar on my back)
2 sets of 15 reps @ 45 lbs (90 sec rest in between)
TABATA (Body weight squats)
20 seconds ON
10 seconds OFF
8x
Reps were as follows:
20/17/18/15/14/16/14/13
(or something like that… hard to count when you are doing this shit)
Then I was done. Shaky thighs! Will be SORE tomorrow! =D
Cardio sucks balls. Are you prepping for a show?
Yay, Molly’s back.
Kroc rows, anyone?
Back extensions with an oly bar on your back? Seriously?
Fuck.
A tiny little 10# weight behind my head on Sunday’s back extensions still has me a little sore today.
Wow! looking thru your journal and you are a freakin stud! Are you training for anything specific at the moment?
now that is an awesome hill sprint. crazy!
Molly, your workouts always make me feel like a grade A pussy. I would be happy to do that squat workout with half my bodyweight, tbh!
