MMGALB727's Training Log

Where is the video of cbear humping a midget. I demand it NOW.

its in my thread and the article discussion thread.

my guess is that T-Nation just couldnt handle more than 2 posts of the vid. whoopsie!

Betty - Good to “see” you too! It’s good to be back!

Deja - thanks! Yeah I love food WAY too much sometimes! =D

Rcfromdb - dude it won’t show up! I think Claire Bear is right… the site can’t handle it being posted too many times!!

So today was a pretty good lifting day! Had to switch some stuff up because of time… but had a decent lower body workout:

Heel Elevated Front Squats w/ Safety Squat Bar
10 reps @ 120 lbs, 6 reps @ 140 lbs, 6 reps @ 150 lbs (ATG! I can go SO LOW on these… I LOVE IT!)

Barbell Reverse Lunges
3 sets of 6 reps @ 105 lbs

Kettlebell Swings w/ DB
3 sets of 12 reps @ 50 lbs

DONE! =D

Tomorrow will be upper body!

P.S. I also got a good workout after this… I work with a local high school’s cheerleading and dance team doing their strength and conditioning work and I like to put them through a lifting circuit (keep in mind these girls are WEAK! But they have been doing body weight stuff with is for 5 months now and are improving a bit… it’s also hard because there are sometimes up to 50 girls that we are working with!) So I demonstrated ALL of these exercises 4-5 times EACH:
Kettlebell Swing
Lat Pulldown
Sumo DL w/ Kettlebell
Trap Bar DL
Elevated Pushup on SM
Inverted Row using TRX straps
Negative Chin-up
Face Pull w/ rope

TIRED! =D

Those girls are damned lucky to be getting this kind of training while still so young.

Personally, I’d love to see a good demo of the kettlebell exercises. I recently bought a kettlebell and would be interested in seeing what “good form” is with swings and the sumo DL.

Thanks! Yeah they can be a little tough to work with at times (it’s a ritzy Catholic High School where the 9th graders have REAL Gucci and Fendi purses… they can be a tad princess-y at times) But they really are good kids!

I will try to get a video of the KB stuff… but keep in mind with things like swings, they are similar to cable pull-throughs, you can adjust the form based on what your are trying to hit, the straighter your legs, the more you hit hams and lower back, the more you bend your legs, the more you hit glutes and quads… (not that you hit quads MORE than other muscle groups, they just come into play MORE than they do with your legs straighter… make sense?)

Oh yeah, I was also very excited because we lifted weights a couple of weeks ago and then they asked, “Are we going to lift weight again this week?!!?!?!” They were all excited to lift weights! YAY! =D

Thats awesome!!

Thanks! I am excited about it too!

So I lifted Upper Body on Thursday… had my workout all planne dout… then switched it after my main lift based on the advice of someone MUCH stronger than me (Cbear’s boyfriend’s wife… yes, you read that correctly. Cbear’s boyfriend Jim has a wife named Jeremy. Now Jim is a BIG mutha f-er… but Jeremy is even bigger… still trying to figure out who is the b*tch in the relationship.

Wait… maybe they are both CBear’s b*tches… yeah… that makes the most sense). Anyway, Jeremy pointed out that my bench needs LOTS of help! (which I knew)… but after he spotter me on incline bench, he suggested I do floor press with chains to work on my lockout… So here was my workout:

Incline Bench Press
6 reps @ 100 lbs (no spotter)
8 reps @ 100 lbs (amazing what a little confidence that you are not going to smash your face can do =D)
3 reps @ 105 (was POOPED after that set of 8)

EZ Bar Floor Press w/ Chains (1 sec pause at the bottom)
55 lbs + 1 medium chain each side (about 80 lbs total) for 8 reps
55 lbs + 1 med and 1 lg chain each side (about 115 lbs total) for 4 reps
55 lbs + 1 large chain each side (about 90 lbs total) for 10 reps
55 lbs + 1 medium chain each side (about 80 lbs total) for AMRAP (got 12 reps)

Face Pulls
3 sets of 30 reps
used 32.5 lbs, then dropped down to 27.5 and got a GOOD SQUEEZE for the last two sets

All in all… good workout!

Makes sense. I did not know that straight v. bent legs made such a difference. That’s very valuable info, and I thank you for it!

YAY! Wouldn’t it be great to raise a generation of girls who thought that being strong was desirable?

So glad you’re starting to catch on. their character ID’s are the caveman and the clydesdale. Hi, lover! Hi, cookie!!

I’d say so!! woot woot!!

I just wanted to say I rack pulled 405 the other day just because I saw a video of you doing it. So thanks. It was a 65lb PR.haha

Kimba - yeah I know! I am hoping that they can develop a love for it and realize that it will only make them LOOK and FEEL better! =D

rcfromdb - that is hilarious! I am glad I inspired you! It’s been a WHILE since I have done that… might need to try it again sometime soon just for shits and giggles! How far was your ROM? (mine was NOT FAR! =D But still smoked my upper back)

So I didn’t have much time for Monday’s workout. It was a lower body day but I ended up being all rushed… YUCK! Anyway… here it goes:

Safety Squat Bar Front Squat w/ Heels Elevated
6 @ 160, 6 @ 160, 6 @ 160 (no belt or anything)

BB Reverse Lunges
6 reps/6 reps @ 95 lbs
supersetted with*
DB Swings
12 reps/12 reps @ 60 lbs

Oh yeah, did all of my glute activation stuff between warm-up sets and what not… =D

Was pretty pumped about my front squat! I guess it’s a PR… I have never front squatted that much! And it was LOW too!

lol at the idea of you front squatting more than the guys next to you were back squatting.

i’ll activate your glutes for you…

I pulled from the top of the knee. The bruises on my thighs were insane!

That front squat effort is big. Very big. Congrats!

Okay, now I want to do rack pulls.
Working on deadlift form has made me itchy to pick up heavy things again.
