Good to have an update. I was wondering how she was doing.
That db row is so high in relation to everything else!

Yeah, my DB row ability is not normal. Like I said, those 80 for 10 were pretty strict… my best Kroc row to date would be 100 for 18 and 110 for 10. Not sure where it comes from… I have very long arms so you would think that it wouldn’t be that good… especially considering I am a P*SSY on everything else right now (CBEAR - I know you are going to make fun of me for using an *, but that’s OK… we can’t all be openly dirty whores like you… I am still trying to pretend that I am not one! =D) Kidding… it’s weird, I can say that word out loud in very crowded public places… but there is just something about typing it out…
Anyway, as CBear mentioned I have been ridiculously busy… work, family issues, personal issues, health issues, re-modeling my house, blah blah blah blah…
I have still been lifting, just not as much. I am in the gym 2-3 days a week… but getting a SHIT-TON of NEPA from other activities… like 35 hours a week of NEPA… EEK! For a while I was doing full body workouts as I was not squatting, deadlifting or benching. However I am now back to including those in my workouts… but variations of them, not the traditional B, SQ and DEAD. I am doing lower body once a week, upper body once a week, and a full body circuit once a week. I am using a template from a recent Mike Robertson article since it uses higher rep ranges and I didn’t feel like designing my own workout =D I almost never do the big lifts for more than 5 reps… and this one uses 8-10… Mother F-er that’s hard! I will post that last few workouts in a bit. Keep in mind that I suck at life right now and still don’t feel well physically. My mental state is a bit better (less depressed and overwhelmed) but still fatigued and weak.
Anyway, I am BAAAACK and hope to be updating more often. I have been lurking a bit… just not posting much.
OK… so as CBear mentioned I just got some allergy tests back… there are several different allergic responses one can have to foods and spices, and you can’t test for all of them (BTW, this is what I have read and have been told… if anyone has any other information conflicting or confirming I would love to hear it). The different anti-bodies we produce are as follows:
he five major types of antibodies are:
* IgA. IgA antibodies are found in areas of the body such the nose, breathing passages, digestive tract, ears, eyes, and vagina. IgA antibodies protect body surfaces that are exposed to outside foreign substances. This type of antibody is also found in saliva, tears, and blood. About 10% to 15% of the antibodies present in the body are IgA antibodies. A small number of people do not make IgA antibodies.
* IgG. IgG antibodies are found in all body fluids. They are the smallest but most common antibody (75% to 80%) of all the antibodies in the body. IgG antibodies are very important in fighting bacterial and viral infections. IgG antibodies are the only type of antibody that can cross the placenta in a pregnant woman to help protect her baby (fetus).
* IgM. IgM antibodies are the largest antibody. They are found in blood and lymph fluid and are the first type of antibody made in response to an infection. They also cause other immune system cells to destroy foreign substances. IgM antibodies are about 5% to 10% of all the antibodies in the body.
* IgE. IgE antibodies are found in the lungs, skin, and mucous membranes. They cause the body to react against foreign substances such as pollen, fungus spores, and animal dander. They may occur in allergic reactions to milk, some medicines, and some poisons. IgE antibody levels are often high in people with allergies.
* IgD. IgD antibodies are found in small amounts in the tissues that line the belly or chest. How they work is not clear.
To my knowledge, the ones you can test for are IgG and IgE… anyway, basically testing for these covers a broad spectrum of what you are allergic to, however you may be allergic to other things that don’t show up on this test, and there is not way to test for those foods/spices except to eat them and record the reaction (UGH!)
They also have a raking system for the anti-bodies in your bloods. If you get a +3 or a +2 reaction, that is most severe and you must avoid that food for a minimum of 6 months. If you get a +1 reaction, you must avoid that food for 3 months. If you get a VL reaction (a very low reaction) you must rotate that food and be careful consuming it too many consecutive days. Here are my results:
+3 and +2 (i.e. can’t eat this shiz for 6 months)
Green Pepper
Lobster
Oyster
ALMONDS (for the love of God, not almonds! EEK!)
Sesame
Coffee (i.e. caffeine)
+1 (can’t eat this shiz for 3 months)
Cranberry
Cod
Crab
Tuna
Lima Bean
Rice
Sunflower seed
VL (things I must rotate)
Cottage Cheese
Yogurt
Alfalfa
Celery
Sweet Potato
Clam
Red Snapper
Salmon
Sardine
Shrimp
Sole
Egg White & Egg Yolk
Buckwheat
Corn
Kidney Bean
Pinto Bean
Oat
Peanut
Pecan
Soy
Walnut
Wheat
So… The weird thing is, you usually develop an allergy to things you eat often… and most of the +3 and +2 stuff I almost never eat, except almonds. My Doc thinks all the fish allergies are coming from fish oil, so I am being switched to Flax Oil for a while. I will miss crab and lobster (I love them but only eat them 6-8 times a year due to $$$)… I will also miss rice. But I can eat them again soon! Also, Gluten and Casein did NOT show up on my list… but that does not mean I am NOT allergic to them… I will definitely be paying close attention to how I react when I am eat them… and I have decided to switch to RAW milk from my local co-op. This might be a silly question, but do they have other RAW dairy products like butter and cream?
I know this is lots of info… but I thought I would come back with a VENGEANCE! =D Oh yeah, and I couldn’t let my journal fall the the 2nd page! =D
Heh, welcome back - hope you get the allergy thing sorted. Missed your awe-inspiring workout posts.
I had to cut out grains as they were causing inflammation. I will, very occassionally, have something that contains them as a treat, but the usual bread, pasta etc is gone. And oddly, I don’t much miss it. You’ll adapt, I’m sure.
I have to say, though, I’d be pissed if I was told I couldn’t eat tuna. It’s not that I love it - more that it’s a good, convenient source of protein and I eat it straight out of the can at work.
Hi, this is my first time reading your log. Very impressive!
I was interested in the food allergy thing. It’s weird how you have an allergy to things you like! My friend became allergic to chocolate around age 21. I, too, love rice. Is it just one kind of rice (white or brown) or all rice? I would think they have other RAW dairy products, can you Google them? Or ask at your local co-op?
hahaha… picky eater.com founder over here can’t eat half the crap she likes! hahahaha!
going out to dinner with you is gonna be fuuunnnnn… still wanna do it, though.
Cal - thanks for stopping by! I just checked out your log and will be popping by more often! P.S. Strong freaking bench! And I am very impressed by your desire to work on your weak points… very noble indeed!
Hopefully I can have some more awe inspiring workouts soon… we will see! =P I actually don’t really eat tuna, believe it or not. I work from home during the day so (luckily) I don’t have to worry as much about convenience.
Grneyes - Thanks for stopping by! yeah it does suck that you become allergic to foods you love… but it makes sense. If you have an inflamed and/or leaky gut (which most of us do to some extent) then food particles can actually permeate your small intestine and get into your bloodstream… which your body doesn’t like.
And if it happens a lot with a certain food (i.e. foods you like and eat often) then your body begins to recognize that food as the “enemy” and you develop and allergy. That’s why I have to give my body time without these foods so that it “forgets” they are the enemy and I can eat them again (rotating them of course) and hopefully not be allergic to them anymore! WHOO HOO! =D

A. you are a huge bitch
- What if I don’t want to go to dinner with YOU?
D. There are really not that many foods that I have to cut out for 3+ months that I am upset about. Almonds, YES! Lobster, YES! Crab, YES! Rice, YES! OK, that’s all.
Anyway, even though you are a huge bitch, you are still a charming bitch and you fondle me every time we hang out… so it’s cool. See you at the gym tomorrow at 3:30? And out to eat around 7:30? Awesome! =D Sushi and crab cakes here we come! (it’s my last hurrah before giving this food up for a while)

It’s a tad fuzzy as it was taken with my iPhone… but this was dinner Saturday night
So I was supposed to do my conditioning circuit yesterday… talked CBear into doing it with me. We warmed up with some hip thrusts (first time either of us tried it and we both got 20 single leg! =D They are HARD!) Here is one of my sets
Here is Cbear
Here is CBear humping our Midget Hookerface friend Siouxsie (pronounced Susie)
And here is the rest of our workout yesterday
We did a bunch of foam rolling, glute activation, etc Then we did a conditioning circuit as follows:
(each exercise done for 12 reps)
Barbell Back Squat using 95 lbs
Pushup w/ Body weight
Jump Lunges with Body Weight
Face Pulls with 42.lbs
Lateral Raises with 15 lb DB’s
Rest 3 min, repeat 2 more times
PUKE!
OK… so we didn’t puke, but we almost did. There was supposed to be another circuit performed after this one, but we opted out since we spent 30-45 min warming up and dicking around…
Then I went on a 45 min walk with a girlfriend (we use that time to catch up on each others lives)
Then I went out to dinner with Cbear & Co. Then I puked in the middle of the night because we ate so much food. The End.
so the woman at the table who DIDNT do shots is the one who pukes… so very interesting…
ftr I opted out of the second circut bc im pretty sure Jim wouldnt like it if I puked at his place of business. that, and, i didn’t bring mah bukkit.
Hey Molly, good to ‘see,’ you! ![]()
cute pic, thanks!
