Missing the Old Darden Forum

I heard that one time, through shear force of will, he stared down a charging crocodile and caused it to drop straight dead.

There’s only so many ways that one can change sets and reps, speed of movement, rest between sets etc etc around differently before you hit rinse and repeat. Through years of trial and error , mostly error , I’ve figured out what routines ,if any , work for me. I do love very much hearing some tid bit about Jones I’ve never heard , even though that’s getting pretty rare these days. It is true though that as I get older I find I’m becoming more of a cranky old bastard , ha ha! One reason for that is my belief in this statement . “ You become who you associate with”. When I was much younger I think I thought somewhat differently but as I’ve got older I’ve become very picky who I associate with! I have much less patience these days with stupid or annoying people. If there’s any connection between me and Arthur Jones way of thinking it may be that? I certainly wasn’t endowed with an over abundance of brains or long muscle bellies, ha ha!

This is why I enjoy Dan Johns writing so much. He rarely, if ever, mentions sets or reps but talks about principles and guidelines. In particular about how to fit those sets and reps into a life. This isn’t designed to be a sales pitch, by the way, just a long way of saying “I get where you’re coming from”

I kinda liked Brian Johnstons ideas he brought to the old site, his variations book and dvd was excellent. Actually he’d a few good books and training method’s.

Yes I think Brian Johnston’s ideas are good but I don’t see much from him on the internet and unless it’s really something special or cheap I’m not buying any more books about muscle building.
