I don’t get hangovers. I don’t do anything fancy. I used to think I was lucky and/or genetically gifted. Then I finally had a hangover…and then another. A few months later I stopped getting them. Trying to figure out what was going on I pondered upon what was different.
The main difference could be broken to a single variable; my nutrition before I drank. When I had hangovers I was not eating clean at all; I wasn’t working out; my main food intake was the all you can eat buffet on campus and lots of Rice Krispy Treats. When I stopped getting hangovers I was eating clean, keeping a food log, and downing 5-6 protein shakes/day (and thus consuming a lot more fluid). Possibly it was just the extra fluid from the shakes that made all the difference…maybe the fact that I was working out regularly. But in the end living a T-Nation lifestyle got rid of my hangovers.
So my advice: Drink a lot of protein shakes during the day (With lots of water), like 5 or 6, before you drink and have one at night before you go to sleep and/or cottage cheese.
