Milk why is it so bad?

Hi i am currently doin the appitte for construction but using my own type diet its a little differnt but i like to have milk with oats. Can u tell me if i can do that or not, or i should just heat them up and cook them.
thanx

Milk, it does a body good.

I’m not an expert on dairy. However, if you can handle milk all it will do is give you more carbs. If you are carb conscious I would not drink too much milk. If you need extra calories to build then I guess, “Milk it does a body good.”

I love milk myself but leave it for cheat days. The reason some do not use milk with oatmeal is due to it being high on the insulin index as it has naturally has quite a lot of sugar in it.

Furthermore the lactose in milk is stored in your liver as opposed to it being stored in muscle.

Since the liver does not have much of a storage capacity its stored as fat.

I am pretty sure I am along the right lines here but im sure someone will correct me if I am not.

Hope this helps

If you want to drink milk then drink it. Dont be scared of it making you fat. If your diet is good and you train effectively you will be fine. So it has 12 g of carbs and 11 of them are sugar. Drink milk and be happy. This whole milk hating thing is ridiculous. If you dont want to drink it then dont, if you want to then drink it.

Heres a little size trick for you: drink 2 cups of milk (16g protein, lots of carbs) every 2 hours during your bulking phase. The milk will increase your gains dramatically. Milk is a two faced monster, it has high quality protein but lots of sugar and Omega 6 fatty acids. In other words it all boils down to your goals.

So is 1 cup of milk in the morning with my oatmeal really that bad??

Once again this is an individual thing that everyone hes to figure for themselves.

If you react well to milk/dairy then by all means drink up. Some just cant cut down while consuming dairy.

hope this helps,

Phill

i notice it dosnt make me fat really i eat about 9 meals a day now im 18 and im either lifting and when not that some form of activity weighter doing bball drills or mowing lawn. But im trying to gain nice mass but get nice and lean to im bout 9 percent body fat now. I think now a bit lower but not real sure but i started eating more protein and i started gaining muscle like crazy and im doin the construction diet heres what i had today on non training day

  1. Oats with milk and a lil rasins

  2. fat free riccota chesse with one piece pumpernikl bread

  3. salad and barley and can of tuna

  4. barley and tuna

  5. 90 precent lean burger and some sea weed

  6. P+F probally samon

  7. P+F chicken and nuts

  8. P+F 5 egg whites, 1 tbsp peanut butter

Do you really need it. I find that using just water doesn’t make that much of a differnce to me. I just add a little protien power as well.

milk is almost always bad for you, unless its raw (unpasteurized, unhomogenized.) I can’t tolerate milk whatsoever, I’m very allergic, but I drink 1/2 gallon of raw goat milk per day, no probs whatsoever. If you’re interested check out www.realmilk.org

do u heat it up or just put water in it with normal oats and eat it like ceral and i saw ur name is hot rox hows it work like i mean u dont lose muscle right but u burn excess fat u have and u gain muscle from it
answer both thanx

Just looked it up today:
Skim Milk GI: 32
Whole Milk GI: 27
Oatmeal was something like 52.

So while it’s true that milk has “sugar” in it, its not like its your drinking sugar water. It’s much more like fruit.

boogafish be careful with making absolute statements like “milk is almost always bad for you, unless its raw”. Which is inaccurate? Milk may contain a lot of sugars (lactose for example) but it does have benefits too like its very high calcium content or its Milk protein which is basically WHEY and casein protein. The bodybuilders of the golden era thrived on gallons of milk a day and they were ripped and possessed awesome bodies. For those who are interested I read a study which said calcium may help in weight loss.

Pasturized milk is overrated to tell you the truth. The commerical ones are the worst. If you knew where it came from, you wouldnt even touch it. Raw milk from GRASSFED cows is best as everything is undamaged, high in CLA and essential fatty acids not found in pasturized milk. The proteins are also undenatured (undamaged). Plently of enzymes too. If i have to get anything from the store, I would at least get organic WHOLE milk. The low fat milk isn’t all that great as i found out what they really are. Here’s a picture of cows on hormones where the commerical milk comes from…

I used whole milk for all protein drinks. I love milk. I drink 2.5 to 3 gallons were week. I also believe milk does the body good.

I just use a cup of whole oats, 3/4 water and 2 Spleda, with a scoop of whey protein.

and on the Hot-Rox, I’ve been using it for about 1 1/2 weeks. It seems to be working. We’ll see when I have completed the 2 bottles I have.

OK. I take back of what I said about organic milk as i just remembered that they’re “ultrapasturized” in which that the milk are exposed to higher temperature for longer period of time compared to convential milk so it’s worse. I say stick with raw milk from grassfed cows. The only good thing about pasturized milk is the calcium. I get enough calcium elsewhere so I don’t need to drink pasturized milk.

it’s very simple, if you like milk drink it, if not dont.

It has plenty of nutrient value even though it has some carbs in it.
