Milk Products and Bodybuilding

Animal protein as in Beef or chicken, ain’t the same as Milk you fool. And Whey protein, as in isolate in your protein shakes. You guys have some serious issues. I said to eat complete protein as in all of the above, something wrong with that?

And yes you can drink too much milk. I was drinking tons of whole milk everyday and along with the other saturated fats from my beef and other foods I gained un-nesessary fat as a result.

You got a problem with me trying to give someone a little “heads up” warning on un-nesessary fats that can be easily avoided to gain more lean body mass? And yeah monohydrate sucks in my opinion after using MRI’s CEE Biotch!

You losers that post so damn much on here are funny. Ya’ll think your hella cool or something? Everyone else is wrong when it comes to you huh? People have suggestions too, you’re not suppose flame for nothing.

Yeah this site is so tight with you guys posting. haha That’s why when most people start a post they have to end it with let the flames begin, and actually expect to get flamed for posting here. That’s fucken rediculous. I never flamed anyone including you Professor X when you were clearly being a fagget. Skim Milk rocks! Got a problem?

I know that there are a lot of guys who drop milk when dieting for a contest. Somewhere, some jackass noob read that and decided that since the final goal was to be shredded, people should avoid milk altogether. Being a jackass noob, he forgot the part about being contest ready where you have to have muscle mass AND low body fat.

I think thats where this whole thing came from.
LOL. Yep. And instead of lifting more, reading more, and posting less, the jack ass went around posting his “truths” in every thread.

Did most of you guys use whole milk for bulking? Prof x?

I always have a tub of cottage cheese in my bedroom mini-fridge to eat before bed (on nights that I don’t have eggs/meat) or for when I wake up in the middle of the night.

I hate…HATE…cottage cheese. That might as well be the dreaded “ma-yo-nnaise” as far as I am concerned. Yes on the whole milk unless I was working on leaning up a little.
I’m sure you’ve all heard this, but the brand of cottage cheese makes a huge difference in taste. There are brands that I just eat out of the tub because it tastes so good, and other brands where I can’t finish a spoonful.

I’ll ghost your tribe.

And, strangely, the people that get flamed are often the ones spreading crazy ill-informed misinformation based on who knows what.
Brant_Drake wrote:

Yeah that’s why Ronnie Coleman eats a serving of beans with 2-3 of his meals when he’s bulking. Man he’s so skinny and clueless, he should take nutrition lessons from you.

Yeah sure some people deserve it, but not for simple suggestions like I made or a lot of the stuff that’s said on here. People are scared to post because of flaming.

How about one woman a figure competitor asking how long HOT-ROX Extreme will stay in her system. Answer, a smartass remark like “respect your orgainization and blah blah” among hella other garbage.

Please don’t give me that shit, I can go on and on how many smartass, pointless shit get posted on here as supposed “help”. TC had to intervene and post so she could get a streight answer.

But that’s just one thread…one in a million. If things were so nice around here there wouldn’t have been a discussion a few months ago about the conduct of flaming people on this site.

Interesting milk article here:
bodybuilding.home.insightbb.com/trainingarticles/milkbodybuilder/

Some quotes:
Comprising about 80% of the milk proteins is the principal protein called casein. This protein contains all of the essential amino acids for utilization by the body and for building muscle tissue.

Milk fat occurs in milk in the form of small individual globules in numbers of about 1500 billion to a pint. It is comprised of glycerol (12.5%), fatty acids (85.55%), and small percentages of lecithin, cholesterol, and vitamins A and D. Compared to the other types of fat that we consume, milk fat is more easily digested and can be consumed in greater quantities, about 97% of the milk fat ingested is utilized by the body.
As you’d expect, most discussions on whole milk vs skim milk are the basically same. Lowfat milk for leaning (or no milk), whole milk for bulking.

This is the reason I read these boards – I’m buying whole milk now. Not to mention it tastes good.

I truly fail to see the problem. If you want this to be like bb.com, then let’s all act like every poster on the internet actually has an opinion worth reading. You’ll have to excuse me if, after several years of education about the human body, I don’t act like every single post making some ridiculous claim about food in general is worth the utmost respect.

You will also have to excuse me if, after several years in the gym to get big and strong, I don’t take every post from some 150lbs newbie as worthy of listening to.

Many of the people here just repeat what they’ve read, whether they actually have any real world experience or not. I personally think there should be less of that.

I would rather listen to some old dude who has trained for 30 years and actually got big than some 18 year old who has been training for six months as he repeats what he just read last week.

Don’t act surprised when lack of experience can be perceived through what you write and how you write it. I imagine that eventually the internet will get rid of the anonymity all together.

Not every bean is a soy bean. In his video he’s eating green beans. And even if he was eating soy, he’s got some very special supplements that change how I look at his nutritional advice.

The portion in bold is a flame.

Dairy products provide a cheap source of great protein.

I drink about a gallon of milk every two days, eat cottage cheese before bed and yogurt is part of both of my snacks every day.

As far as I know, dairy products have not led to any ill side effects for me.

Question…

I have no problem with milk and dairy at all ive actually made them a large part of my new bulking diet. Im not lactose intalerent to any degree that I know of either.

but I have also read alot about the so called “danger” of drinking processed milk and dairy and how its not good for you. Some of it to an extent made sense but at the same time ive drunk milk for years myself as has my family with nothing haywire I can see. has anyone had ill effects that were later removed after they eliminated dairy from their diet?

My penis started talking and wouldn’t stop until I quit drinking milk. This was really embarrassing at school functions and weddings because none of his jokes were even remotely funny.

It seems like there is no consensus on milk products for bodybuilding - some say it’s great (“squats and milk!”), many suggest to stay away and not overindulge.

I, personally, love milk products and think that they are great for those who are not lactose intolerant.

However, are there any recommendations out there as to upper limit intake of mil products for healthy adults?

I recently discovered Trader Joe’s cottage cheese, yogurt, kefir (all 1-2% fat) and I like their taste so much that I can easily consume 800-900 calories a day from these sources (including milk and cheese). This is a significant increase in dairy consumption as compared to before; it’s like my body craves yogurt/cottage cheese now.

Given that I’m 165lb and my daily intake is probably 2500 (I’ve never really calculated, but I eat clean pretty much non-stop), is it OK to get 1/3 of calories from milk products? Any possible downsides?
I really wonder about this craving thing - I experience it too. Once I let myself start eating dairy it’s ALL I want to eat…wonder why?
Professor X wrote:

I don’t drink as much milk now, but I am positive that doing so in the beginning helped me gain most of my size initially. It was affordable and it provided the extra calories and protein I needed.

if i recall correctly, you mentioned in another thread that you’ve become lactose intolerant…

so it would be safe to assume that this was before your lactose intolerance, but anyways i’m lactose intolerant (can only drink about a half a cup before getting “distress”) so my question is…

do you think that milk was important enough to the process to warrant drinking it even if you are lactose intolerant by either taking lactase pills or drinking lactose free milk?

For someone whos lactose intolerant i eat tons of milk products. Cottage cheese, yoghurt, milk and cream. Love my cream. Then add milk proteins to all of it.

I do get concerned i eat too much of it. Mainly because i believe variety is important. But try to find other things with similar profiles, texture and uses in shakes, etc… ITs damn near impossible.
