Hey guys, I was always having trouble gaining weight nomatter what I tried. I tried all sorts of different diet combinations and supplements. However I recently stumbled across something pretty crazy. I started drinking alot of milk, almost 2 litres a day. I think it tastes so good and i feel good when i drink it so theres really nothing stopping me from doing this.
Anyways, when i started drinking so much milk I started to grow a heck of alot faster than i ever have before. About 10 pounds in 2 months for someone that hasn’t gained a pound in many years. It isnt’ fat either, that’s what impresses me the most. I’m wondering if there’s hormones in milk or something that helps or if it’s just extremely digestable protein depending on the person? And also is there anything wrong with drinking this much milk? I’m just curious. Thanks, guys.
Has to do with the unique ability of the macronutrients in milk to absorb directly into the blood stream via the top lip. This metabolic pathway allows the body to utilize each macronutrient it is most natural state with very little energy expenditure.
This magnificent wonder of the world actually became the staple of the dairy industry’s advertising campaign where the phenomenon is proudly displayed by some of the world’s top athletes and models.

There have been periods where I would drink at least half a gallon a day. I also put on the most weight during those periods. I still mix most of my powdered protein or MRP’s in it. No, there is nothing wrong with you drinking that much milk.
Thanks guys It’s nice to have some of my curiousity quenched. I never would have guessed about that upper lip absorption, but I figured there was something about milk that was built in to our bodies to help with breastfeeding as babies. I guess I don’t have to know much more, only that it works and it’s safe. So i’ll keep on with that milk! Thanks again.

The jury is always out on the milk it seems. I think if milk didnt have so much sugar in it naturally it would be perfect. I typically would drink a good amount of it daily, and use it in post workout drinks. I hear how some say it helps to loose weight either via the calcium or the slow digesting protien, and then I hear how the high carbs tend to make some people gain fat. Hell I don’t know WHAT to believe.
Personally I am on the Velocity diet, have not had milk in a couple of weeks, and I have not noticed anything that I would atribute to not consuming dairy. I know some of the contributers on this site say they will remove dairy from a diet if someone loosing weight is not making progress.
I am nervous of the carb countdown milk myself, higher in protien, less carbs, but processed more which makes me nervous of if the protien in it is quality, I mean where did the extra come from anyways.
To be honest a good way to get your milk is in the form of cottage cheese, it changes the protien carb ratio and takes longer to digest. I mean the old staple before bed was always cottage cheese!

I swear
That shit is priceless[/quote]
No what’s REALLY priceless is that the guy believed him. HA!
When I first started lifting 4 years ago, I never used to drink milk, and was struggling making any gains and was always skinny. After a year or so when I found out all the old time body builders more or less relied on it I started drinking 4 pints a day of semi skimmed milk, and thats when the muscle really started piling on.

Hood Low Carb countdown is good stuff. It’s been recomended by TC and CS. I swear by it. Try it before you knock it.
I’ve also had positive experiences with the milk. Back in year 2003…I’ve gained more than 15pds a month while drinking half litre each night. I’d say that 80% of that gain was muscle and 20% fat thou, but I think that’s acceptable in bulking.

I find I digest milk quicker, and it fills me up less so I can drink more. Great at the end of meals when you can’t eat anymore - drink a glass of milk. It’s all about the calories.
Yeah, man. I started drinking a pint and a half at every meal during the second semester of school, just figure that is an extra 70 grams of protein/day! And milk is 80% casein, 20% whey; it’s good for us bodybuilders to get a different type of protein in us…
I’ve tried the whole, skim and 2%, same quatities, same routine…but I gained a lot more on the whole, maybe because of the calories.
I’ve been doing some shop comparison…and whole milk seems to be a very cost effective quality protein source, as well as total calories.
I hate all of you… I absolutely love milk, I love nothing more than drinking a 16 ounce glass of whole milk. I am quite sure it would also help me pack weight on, I tend to be able to drink much more than I can eat, only problem… my ass cant handle it. lactaid or regular it makes no difference, shit blows me apart.
