Vick’s transgressions kinda pale in comparison, huh? All I’m saying is that there are bigger things going on in the world than a water bottle that smells like weed.

Guys like Vick, Johnson and T.O. need to understand that pure, raw talent like they have wanes with age.
As they age, and skills diminish somewhat, there will be less tolerance for what they do. (T.O. is a case in point; when Dallas signed him, there were like only 2 teams with even a REMOTE interest).
All three (and many others) better start looking closely at their lives AFTER the NFL…

Yeah, it pales in comparison. So?
Slapping my wife pales in comparison to killing her. You think I should get away with that?
I’m a big believer in the “broken window theory” where cracking down on the small stuff reduces the more serious crimes.
You may have to look it up to see how effective it is. And it has NOTHING to do with making an example of Vick.
But he’s no better than any of us and he needs to realize that.

Yeah it was hugely effective…
Proving that legal abortion prevents crime once those would be delinquents have not grown up to commit crimes…
Which is why crime rats fell everywhere not just in Gulianis little experiment…
He was just riding the wave…

If that was supposed to be a slam on my previous post, sorry to dissapoint you, I read Freakonomics too.
James Q. Wilson and George Kelling developed the `broken windows’ thesis to explain the signaling function of neighborhood characteristics. This thesis suggests that the following sequence of events can be expected in deteriorating neighborhoods. Evidence of decay (accumulated trash, broken windows, deteriorated building exteriors) remains in the neighborhood for a reasonably long period of time. People who live and work in the area feel more vulnerable and begin to withdraw. They become less willing to intervene to maintain public order (for example, to attempt to break up groups of rowdy teens loitering on street corners) or to address physical signs of deterioration.
Sensing this, teens and other possible offenders become bolder and intensify their harassment and vandalism. Residents become yet more fearful and withdraw further from community involvement and upkeep. This atmosphere then attracts offenders from outside the area, who sense that it has become a vulnerable and less risky site for crime.
The “broken window” theory suggests that neighborhood order strategies such as those listed below help to deter and reduce crime.
Quick replacement of broken windows
Prompt removal of abandoned vehicles
Fast clean up of illegally dumped items, litter and spilled garbage
Quick paint out of graffiti
Finding (or building) better places for teens to gather than street corners
Fresh paint on buildings
Clean sidewalks and street gutters
Mayor Guiliani has NOTHING to do with this, nor does abortion. It has to do with punishing ALL crimes when they happen (even if it’s just a small fine or community service). That was my analogy.

What’s so damn great about weed? Am I missing something?
I cannot identify with what some people go through to drink, smoke etc. when it’s either against the rules or the law.
Is it THAT hard to go through life straight? [/quote]
Have you ever gone to amsterdam to sample the amazing strains? THere is more to marijuana than duh eating and vegging.
I doubt many people on this site, would appreciate the cerebral high of a good sativa, or haze.
Weed can allow the mental chatter to stop, allow the subconscious to be easier accessed, and sometimes allow for more instinctive art, and creativity.
BUt than again if nothing is going through your head other than lifting, fucking , eating, than your gonna just see it as um WEED.

If I had his money I would have more guns than that. Guns are fun as hell but I would make sure they were all legally owned. Of course playing in Chicago makes that hard.

You must be smoking while typing…
Your post makes no sense. Maybe I’ll get a lobotomy so I can keep up with you.

Wait, let me guess… You’re pro-drugs but anti-gun, right?
Do ya’ll think this incident will really affect his career future?
I bet the Raiders would pick him up in a heartbeat.

I just fail to see what the highlights of your life have to do with the virtues of not smoking weed.
I guess this begs the question, how many of your own moral values have you decided to force on others today?

Probably not but it tells you something about his decision-making abilities.

wait a second:
“There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in the US, and most are Negroes, Hispanics, Filipinos, and entertainers. Their Satanic music, jazz, and swing, result from marijuana use. This marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers, and any others.”
“…the primary reason to outlaw marijuana is its effect on the degenerate races.”
“Marijuana is an addictive drug which produces in its users insanity, criminality, and death.”
“Reefer makes darkies think they’re as good as white men.”
“Marihuana leads to pacifism and communist brainwashing”
“You smoke a joint and you’re likely to kill your brother.”
“Marijuana is the most violence-causing drug in the history of mankind.”

Ummm, if you were paying attention, you’d realize my post was a response to the above quote. Kill Em’All seemed to think pot was magical in it’s ability to open up your creativity and clear your head. I responded.
He also alluded to not NEEDING pot if all you though about was “lifting, fucking and eating” as he so elloquently put it. My “highlights” are there to point out how misinformed he is.
And as for forcing my morals on others… I cannot force anything on anyone unless they let me. Are you that weak that you’d actually do what I told you to do?
