Michael Vick, What An Idiot....
Professor X wrote:

I mean, how much trouble can he get in for this? Not only can he claim it was someone else’s and that was why he didn’t want to throw it away, but it had nothing in it but a smell. the way some people were writing in this thread, you would think he tried to sneak a kilo of coke onto a plane.
Seriously, this is what I’ve been wondering. Its great we’ve got that crack team of airport security investigators on the case or Michel Vick might be wandering around with a water bottle that smells like weed.

The thing is, when you continue to do questionable things, you will eventually get labeled as not-so-bright. First Ron Mexico, now this. He’s building a reputation.

Ron Mexico is the greatest fake name ever.

Nope Mike Honcho is the best fake name ever but thats beside the point!

Apparently, the bottle was empty. There was “residue” in the container which was only investigated because he was reluctant to throw it away. The facts are a little different than some people in this thread are making it seem.
I don’t get it then.

Whatever the details are, he got in trouble because he was trying to hide the fact that he had contraband in an airport. If that isn’t the sign of a moron, that he just HAD to bring contraband in the airport and try to get it on a plane or whatever the circumstances may be.

And who gives a crap if some here think
“Oh, it was just the smell”, or “Jeez, it was just a little weed” or that’s a stupid law".

The fact is that he got caught trying to be a sneaky little brat.

When does common sense take over and tell you “Hey, maybe this is kind of childish.”?

Oh, and who cares if he’s “famous” and famous people are prone to do stupid things. He acted like a moron here, period.

How sad you think this way.

You’re coming very close to blaming airport security for Vick’s stupidity. It was Vick’ fault.

You think you can pick and choose which laws you can break and get away with?

I could just imagine who you’d be blaming if it were you that got caught.

I rarely disagree with you Prof, but it was not empty.

According to ESPN Radio’s in house council the “dark substance” in the bottle was 3+ grams.

That’s a dime bag where I come from.

“Travel smoke”

That’s two posts in a row where you have made entirely too much sense. This is the internet gosh darn it. There is no need to bring common sense here.

Now go to your room and think about what you’ve done. And don’t come back until you are full of sarcasm and trollish behavior!

Why would he bring it otherwise?

“Hmm, I’ve got a little weed left and I don’t want to throw it away. What could I possibly use to get it past security? The one thing they’re really looking for these days is water bottles. I know…how about a water bottle! Brilliant!”

If it was empty, but he liked his water-bottle contraption so much that he just couldn’t part with it, he should have just thrown it in a bag and checked it.

If it was a one-hitter worth of weed or so, he could have picked about a thousand smarter ways to get it through. Wallet. Pocket. Sock. Book. Notebook. Briefcase. Computer. Anything but a water bottle.

Dick Longenhard, best ever.

I was going through the Atlanta airport a while ago and before even making us throw away all water bottles, they sent a dog through everyone’s bags. He jumped on my backpack. I shit my pants. I didn’t have anything or ever did, but these things trigger on fruit (I had a banana in there the day before), drugs and a bunch of other stuff. Vick is just stupid for even trying this.

That means I done writ sumthin’ good right?

Thank you.

Where did I blame airport security? I do question their motives for checking out vick’s bottle and their explanation that he was very reluctant to give it up, but that is neither here nor there, and that was nowhere in my previous post.

Where in my post did I say you could pick and choose what laws you break, go strawman someone else. I do think its a bit ridiculous that such a big deal is being made of this.

Further, I don’t smoke weed so I don’t know who I’d blame if I got caught…maybe the terrorists, they seem a pretty popular scapegoat around here.

I am all for the legalization of marijuana, but I can’t help but agree with you. It wasn’t the smartest thing in the world to do, that’s for damn sure.

Those bottles are only 20 bucks on ebay eh? Hmmmmm

Is it only either/or? Sober? I can’t have a drink now either? What’s wrong with having a joint, why should everyone try to be a straight arrow square? I’m trying to understand you. You didn’t say ‘he’s a moron for not being more careful…etc’ but made a generalization that implied on what everyone should be doing. Do you suppose the drug war was a good idea too?

Risk a job worth over 130 million

or

Smoke a little weed…

???

Its a dificult decision.

MORON!

I said you were coming close to blaming them, not that you were. You seemed more upset at them for doing thier jobs than you were at the idiot for breaking the law.

And you admit to questioning the motives of people (airport security)constantly berated for letting things slip past them. Jeez, they get shit for NOT doing thier jobs, now you give them shit for DOING thier jobs.

You appeared to think that Vick should get a pass for breaking law I believe you deemed stupid in an earlier post. You don’t get to choose (thank God).

You think too big a deal is being made? By who? Well, you know what? He tried to bring an illegal substance on an airplane. I know in my state it’s a possible 6 months incarceration and $500.00 fine and you can bet your ass I’d have a record after this if it were me that got caught.

And you think he should get off with nothing? Or have I misrepresented you again?

Sober; Habitually abstemious in the use of alcoholic liquors or drugs; temperate.
Not intoxicated or affected by the use of drugs.

Sorry, I used the adult definition of sober which includes drugs along with alcohol.

"Screwing up (potentially) your career because you just HAD to smoke weed is the act of a true idiot no matter how stupid you think the law is. It's currently illegal to posess it and/or smoke it and I have a feeling the NFL has something to say about it as well."

Clearly I DID think he was stupid for getting caught. Now YOU strawman someone else;^)

Mike Vick (thought process)

"Well, I ain’t a pimple on a real quarterbacks right buttock. I can’t stand in the pocket, no balls, gotta run. I’ve gotten my coaches runn oft. Always looking out for Mike V. Someone stupid enough to let me play QB, yeah I’ll take the money, buy some weed.

I love WATER!"
