Mentor the Wretched Newbies

I think one of the problems is that a majority of the newbies dont realize that they are “beginners”. Aparently, the transition from beginner to intermediate requires only about 4 weeks of making it to they gym 3 times a week. Everyone thinks theyre more advanced than they are and everyone likes to think that theyre an expert.

I think 'Tiger hit on a good point. Noone wants to admit their inexperience or lack of knowledge. Sadly doing the wrong thing for a length of time does nothing to advance your actual ‘experience’ or knowledge level.

I recall an old issue of the printed ‘Testosterone’ magazine (how many of you read 'em?! I still have them all! -lol). It asked several people ‘in the know’ to list important points and advice, and one was “Once you think you know it all, you’re done”. I think it may have been Ron Harris’s quote, but it always stuck with me.

The guys that kill me are the ones who start threads by announcing how inexperienced and in need of help they are and then argue with every damn word that falls from anybody,s keyboard.
