Meltdown Training, T-Dawg Diet

I have been reading the forums for a little while now. To give you an idea i am 5’9 around 210 lbs. I have gained about 30-40 lbs do to inactivity since I graduated high school. I’m 23 yrs old. I am looking into local gyms and think i know which one i will join. I really am wanting results and want to go all out with my training. My goal is to get around 160-170 with a dramatic decrease in body fat percentage which is around 30%. In general I want to be in better shape and toned. I know that it is a big goal and I really dont have a timeframe to achieve this. I am trying to be realistic and not expect results immediatly.

I have read the beginner forums and found what i think i want to do. The T-Dawg diet for nutrition and Meltdown training for workouts. I was wondering if people who know more than me think this is a good idea or should i go another route. Have any of you done the T-Dawg diet or the meltdown training? How did it work for you?

Sounds like a good plan to me. Just make sure you take some before pics so you can do a true before/after comparison.

My diet is a conglomeration of several different articles from T-Nation and doesn’t follow the T-Dawg Diet 100% but it’s fairly close to it. You will have to tweak whatever diet you pick but the Dawg has a proven track record and is a great place to start.

I did the complexes for fat loss routine(still doing them) and had great results. The meltdown training is the same idea and should work great for your goals. I just don’t have a gym membership so I couldn’t do meltdown training since all I have is a bar and weight at home.

I think your goals are probably a little light. I am at 180lbs right now and I feel anorexicly skinny most of the time. I wouldn’t set any hard numbers for the scale but set a BF% goal. I’ve been at 180lbs for the last few months but have still lost a few inches off my waist and look a lot better than I did two months ago even at the same weight.

Always liked that diet. Worked really well for me a while back, now I go a little higher with cleaner carbs, but still keep a rotational thing going on. MOstly very low M-F (except for a post wortkout sugar spike), then load 'em in on the weekend. Supplementing with Fish Oils, and some BCAAs have prevented a lot of muscle loss when I diet, so that’s a big thing with me now.

Thanks for the advice guys. Sounds like a great starting point for me. I look forward to getting started around the first of the year.
