I want to start an 8 week program to lose fat and increase mitochondrial density. A lactate threshold program like meltdown 1 would be perfect for this, but it advises against going over 6 weeks or so. Meltdown 2 looks appealing, but less focused on lactic acid training. Would this be alright for mitochnodrial density, or should I do the meltdown 1 for 8 weeks? If i did the meltdown 1 for 8 weeks, should i change exercises or just add weight for the progression?
Thanks
May I ask why you want to increase mitochondrial density?

Nutrient partitioning effect, increased metabolism, potential life extension benefits, increased conditioning etc.
Anyone have any input?
Mitochondria are not mitochlorians.
I guess knowing what both of those are makes me a double nerd.
If you can really do Meltdown balls-to-the-wall for 8 weeks . . . . .go for it.
