Not trying to come off as the self righteous asshole, but I can honestly say I’ve NEVER fought with any female like that before. I do think it’s interesting that a lot of people that cuss and scream at their loved ones think it’s normal. IMO that is not normal for 2 grown adults to talk to one another like that under any circumstance. Women deserve more respect then that…

That was hilarious! He sounds like he’s acting in a movie or something. Maybe he’s just researching a role for a movie about a dysfunctional couple or something.
Anyway… It’s really none of anyone’s business except theirs IMO. I know it’s fun to tear down celebrities, but who hasn’t had fights like this with their exes before? I mean, you should have heard some of the shit mom mom’s second husband used to say to her when he was drunk.
And just how did these conversations end up in the public in the first place? Did this woman record the phone conversations just so she could release them to the public to ca$h in? Isn’t that kind of thing illegal? I don’t know.
This and the whole Lindsey Lohan thing. Why is it on the news? Why do we care about this stuff? Isn’t there more important things to be worried about?

I’ve never done that or heard anyone say that kind of thing with a girlfriend/wife. An ex volunteered at a womens shelter, and what Mel was saying sounds like some of the stories she heard there.
I guess if someone grows up with that kind of behaviour, and isn’t offered any other, by default it becomes ‘normal’.

I’ve never yelled at a girl or said anything hateful.

My girl came from a really bad relationship where the guy treated her great at first, then turned into a real pos and eventually started beating her. The part where he tells her, “you have no friends… She wanted to suck my ****… I’m your only friend… I’m soo good to you and you treat me like crap…” all sounds like shit he used to tell my girl.
Guys like that break down a female so that she feels like she’s not worth shit, and by lowering her self value she puts up with the abusive behavior. I til this day can’t believe my confident, beautiful, take no shit girl friend allowed someone to treat her like that. She’s definitely not the type to let anyone talk down to her, but if someone hears this type of shit enough and they don’t have a really good family or friend support system it’s easy to get stuck in this type of toxic situation.
Thats why I’m hoping he gets jail time. There’s a ton of females out there who are abused by men who don’t run or get out of the relationship because their self value has been torn so low they often will agree with the abuser. That shit is sad and anyone who does that to another human being should go to prison.

Great post.
If you believe this behavior is normal you may need to look a little deeper at yourself.

JUST a bad temper? Oh, so that makes it okay?

Not at all. He’s still abusive. But I have known people that get mad easy or raise their voices when they are upset, but those things in and of themselves don’t automatically make a person a loony IMO.
This is actually a bad example because dude is a loony. Just not for blowing his top

Most people might not think it’s normal, but I grew up listening to that shit all the time between my parents, especially my mom’s second husband. He would get drunk and they would have these EPIC fights that made Mel Gibsons’s rants seem like baby talk. Several times my mom wound up in the hospital, yet she stayed with him for years where they would continue to have these fucking brawls.
I know “internet people” would never disrespect a woman like that, but we all know that people actually DO fight like this, and it’s a pretty common. I don’t see anyone condemning domestic violence, perceived or otherwise, anywhere else unless it involves celebrities or professional athletes - which pretty much sums up where American priorities lie in terms of culture.
And before I get flamed for “defending abuse against women”, I’m not saying that it’s OK. Just saying that shit like this isn’t rare, especially in today’s “ME ME ME” culture.
