Just thought of a thread idea about if anyone has ever met one of their BB icon/hero/role model before? Thought it would be cool if some of you guys who have, could share and posts pics when you met them at like a show or a guest appearance or something, were they what you expected and I dunno, they drop any advice to you on how they got to where they are and so on? 
I met Paul Chek when I was 17, and thought he was exercise God at the time.
Now I wonder just how much damage that seminar did to my young mind.
Ive been a fan of Jay Cutler since i started out wanting to be a bodybuilder and got to meet him in march which was pretty cool and hes a super nice guy too.
Meeting your hero’s what? 
I met my hero’s wife.
I’ve met Branch Warren, and Vic Martinez…I’ve been in the same room with many pros on a couple of occasions, to name a few, Jay, Dorian, Evan, Kai, Ben White, guys like Rodney Roller etc…
Vic was a fucking champ, such a nice guy…didn’t speak too much with him, he actually thanked me for taking a picture with him…That impressed me a lot, giving a smile, shaking my hand and saying thank you after I took a pic with him…My dad also asked him such a newbie question about the EZ curl bar and he took the time to answer it, [I would have beat his ass if he disrespected my pops :)].
Branch was also a gentleman and I just didn’t know what to say, I wished him well for the Olympia when his next show was the Arnold…lol, I felt stupid but again a great guy…
Most of the Pros I have been around or met have been nothing but courteous to their fans…True role models…
However, when it comes to talking to them…I would rather ask, “hey how is life,” kind of questions, rather than “how do you train X,Y,Z” because you will probably get the same old answer nobody likes to here but it is the truth of all truths, hard work, consistency, plenty of food and rest and the determination to beat the log book as often as possible…And since I know this why ask? Plus, the how do you train biceps stuff is so self explanitory, alt. db curls, preachers, etc…I’d rather be more personal, ask about how their contest prep is and wish them well, because that’s what I would want to here in that position.
I’ll be training at Bevs Powerhouse again in about 2 weeks and in there you’ll never know who you’ll run into. Looking forward to it, hopefully pics and vids will result from that training session.

Not heroes by any stretch of the word, but I’ve met Paul Dillett and Greg Kovacs at their respective gyms several years ago.
I meet myself every morning in the mirror. It always inspires me.

I met Bo Schembechler when he was working in the front office for the Detroit Tigers.
I was a sophmore in high school. I was wearing my varsity jacket with the pins for football affixed to the letter. He shook my hand, poked at the letter on my jacket and said “I like seeing these better than a chest full of cross country medals! Good Luck!” and then he smacked me on the butt as I walked away.
I wish to hell I would have had a picture with him. Specially now that he’s gone.

Here in SA we dont got to many big names except for Marius Dohne but I remember a few years back Branch Warren came down for a seminar, I was too young to fully understand who he was and so on but God if someone of his IFBB calibre could come down again Id be first in line!
