Mechanical Drop Sets Revisited

I believe CT no longer recommends this program due to the CNS fatigue, but I’ve been using some DC style rest pauses lately and really enjoy the results I’ve gotten, something I read recently reminded me of MDS and I thought I might give some of it a try.

Was curious if any current board members had used MSD and what their experiences were with it…thanks

I have done MDS while doing a DC split. It was a complete bastardization of both programs but I liked it for a little while. Ramp up to one heavy set, of say DB press. It would go like this: Incline DB, breaths, flat DB, breaths, decline, catch breath, stretch.

It worked for some exercises/body parts (chest, tris) better than others (shoulders - bad, did not try back) and I would rotate that in every third time on the body part. This was quite demanding. I can see CT’s point. I never did CT’s program as he laid it out.

I have done them for arms and I think that they are great for them. I have not tried them for any other bodypart, but for arms I believe that they work the best and make the most sense.
