Someone tells me they have the stats of IFBB pros when natural or they don’t have the same physique or body comp as them, what are people supposed to say to this?

Who did this? if they have the same stats, that would mean the same body comp also. I haven’t seen anyone here make that claim to match the body comp and stats of an IFBB pro but not look like it.

Who did that?
He is talking about MassiveGuns and his 5’7" 220# 6%bf friend that he insists doesn’t look like those pics of Flex Wheeler or Troy Alves despite having very similar stats.

Point is if you’re serious about lifting, whatever aspect it is, you can and should get respected by other serious lifters. Everyone has the goals of being bigger stronger and leaner. (well with one notable exception)
That’s kinda the way the group I train with came together. We all lift heavy and it just makes more sense for all of us to start working out together. We all lift for different reasons (2 are bodybuilders and the rest of us are/were powerlifters).

I mean if you are squating, doing deads, or stacking obscene plates on a leg press you kinda like to train with people that can relate, do the same, and can help rack/unrack. It was like we gravitated to each other. Everyone of us is different and thank God all of us have thick skin because we rip each other a new one almost every day. It’s great motivation.

I know the rest of the gym has this opinion that we are pricks and we probably are but we have busted our ass to get that way.
Yea I mean it’s a cool feeling when you’re acknowledged as someone who is “serious”. I don’t look like much physique wise but am known as that guy who’s always grinding out heavy deadlifts, so I get the head nod of acknowledgement from the guy who’s “aesthetic” doing pump work. That mutual level of respect is cool and it’s nice to know you can ask someone reliable for a spot or just shoot the shit about training.

the essence of this thread:

i am big
i hang out with big people at my gym
why wont u guys put on your kneepads and accept “what i have to give”
i dont understand why you people argue against me

It isn’t always about being as big as the biggest guys in the gym. I see many guys I try to go out of my way to point out progress on because I see how hard they work…an many of them are making great progress.

They are part of the same group.

Do you?

I usually don’t. I don’t “hang” with anyone at the gym unless I am training with them.

I’m not sure why I put my opinion in here

I’m out

This has been one of the primary complaints against you. You have no justification to wine about it until you clean up your own act.

HT has called you out on this very thing several times to no avail.

i think it is funny and entertaining how people are giving him shit back finally.

carry on.

Care to point out where you were insulted or spoken down to?

lolwut?

I’m talking about the way you talk to everyone on this site.

Well… everyone that doesn’t happen to share your same beliefs/opinions.

Yeah I have noticed in more than one gym the fact that birds of a feather flock together, I suppose its natural to some degree and it does reflect a little on the hierachy in gyms. Its kind of funny to see those skinny newbies looking to get some acknowledgement from the bigger or more developed guys who all seem to know each other and in turn comic to see the developed guys trying to win approval from those that are big and lean.

No, you see, if you argue that:
You have no justification to wine about it until you clean up your own act.
…you would need to show that there is an act to clean up.

If nothing is happening, then what needs to be cleaned up?

Bro you don’t represent everyone on this site that doesn’t agree with prox on everything he says. You certainly don’t need to be anyone’s advocate that does have a disagreement with him. But don’t let me interrupt your voyeuristic keyboard masturbation exercises.

e·lit·ism or é·lit·ism (-ltzm, -l-)
n.

 1. The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources.

As far as camaraderie goes, I’ve definitely seen some great supportive folks on here, this is despite the Sh-t-Storm threads that have become the norm these last several years. In at least as much as you can feel supported from an online forum, it’s always worked for me. That’s why I always enjoyed detailing my own experiences, and went out of my way to answer every PM, or thread questions I’ve gotten. If I want people to support me, I gotta support them. That goes for people who do not share my personal beliefs or goals, as well as those who do but have yet to achieve similar levels of accomplishments as mine.

To the idea that all serious people are elitist: No need to mix words, I think that’s a complete load of pompous crap. If the dictionary definition of the word is to be believed, than I should be running around letting everyone know how awesome I am every time I add to a thread. People who disagree with me must be wrong, because damnit, I’m the Mighty Stu. If you get out of line, or heaven forbid you start getting more attention than I do in your threads, then I’m coming in to shift the topic to me… so yeah, I kinda disagree with that idea. I’ve enjoyed online friendships with many folks from this site, and even met a fairly good amount of them in real life to hang out and train. At no time do I ever entertain the idea that I deserve special treatment for any reason, especially something as silly as being a decent bodybuilder.

S

Not ONE of the serious and developed lifters on the site made fun of your development or muscular size.

They called you out on having a very unbalanced build and/or trying to pass yourself off as leaner than you really are…again not a problem per se but that combined with your alleged online behavior yada yada…they wanna piece of youse.

Now the peanut gallery (PG) is a different animal really. The PG wants to score brownie points with the “newer order big and lean guys” just like the erstwhile PG tried to curry favor with you and the other “former big guys”.

Such is life…

In my gym, all of the bigger or more developed guys seem to know each other. It really doesn’t matter if they are old or young, it is like you have something in common with those people…and you just know it when you see each other.

It isn’t about a certain size either…but more a look and a vibe you get from certain people.

This is why I train at certain gyms…because of the people and the atmosphere that brings.

Why is it in internet-land, that bond seems to not only be missing lately…but it seems some of the smaller or less developed have now developed some pretty strong attitudes that I even see in the gym lately?

There is a whole new breed of gym goer who hs no clue about gym ettiquette and some even seem to dispise those who worked to stand out from the norm.

How do we maintain that camaraderie in a public forum when it comes so easily face to face…and is lost so quickly once behind a computer screen?

lol, to be honest Stu, one of the rules I, and probably most other posters go by is: does Stu think it’s a good idea/agree? Ok, I must be right.

Conversely, the other side of the rule is: Does Stu think it’s wrong? Ok, I’ll change it.

It’s a lifestyle…and the peopl who live it know what it takes to maintain it.

Too many times to count I get a head nod or start speaking to someone just because we notice we both lift seriously.

Yeah, I couldn’t disagree more. You CHOOSE to use “elitist” in such a negative way. The truth is, you won’t be walking up to the guy who never lifts and just sits on the equipment to talk beyond a passing “hello” because you recognize you have little in common.

Please deny this.
